I’m okay with the Cards talking to as many HC prospects as possible. On the surface it would seem you want to be sure you’ve explored all your options. That said being decisive is critical in this process and time may not be on the Cardinal’s side. Two other teams have already picked their man with at least one of those guys on the Cards’ target list. The Cards have now added the additional hurdle of telling applicants if chosen for the next round they will be expected to visit the Cards’ facilities if they wish to be offered the position. On the surface that seems okay but you have to wonder how many other key Cardinal options may be sucked up before the Cards actually offer the position. The Cards are certainly proceeding as if they had the premier opening. I think they do have a good slot, but since most of the candidates have waited a long time for this opportunity I can’t picture many of them not accepting a position and instead waiting for the Cards to decide. My experience tells me that when I’ve been in a similar position, I’ve known my top candidate when I’ve seen them. We can only hope that when the Cards figure out their man he still wants them. I’m not sure this is really a buyer’s market
