Agreed.

But you can't let all your talent walk out the door either. That has been proven in the past.

I dunno the whole situation does not sit well with me but that is obvious. I am not saying your view on this doesn't make sense either.

We just disagree on Boldin's value to the club, and his ability/potential.

Graves competitence to "keep the core together".

Not to mention his abilty to draft, which comes into play when you trade a proven player for picks.

And if every star player on the Cardinals keeps crying or bellyaching about they want 10 mil or nothing well then they go.

2-10. Losing 41-3 to the Browns, with "high effort" guys that we pull off the street pumping gas ?

No thanks.

I firmly believe that the FO is planning on drafting a RB but they won't let go of Edge until the replacement is drafted.

Here's a scenario where we keep Edge IMO. Every time that we pick in the first three rounds all of the RBs that are graded that high or even a little reach are gone. I don't think that Edge would be released until we at least got into camp and the coaching staff got a look at what backs we had, and if one looks like a good change of pace with Hightower, then he would go.
there isn't a feasible scenario you,or anyone, can come up with that will make me believe Edge will be on the team next year. It just isn't going to happen.

It would be a pretty futile argument since, as I said, I think that the Cards are going to draft a RB. I wasn't specific about it but I think that they are going to target one in the first two rounds. My point is, if they get to the fifth round and haven't drafted a RB yet I don't think that they will cut Edge unless they find a diamond. We won't be going into camp with Tim Hightower, Jason Wright and Chris Vincent as our RB's. If Vincent and Wright don't show something special I could see Edge staying on the team. Maybe we'll pick one up some other way but I don't think that we have Edge on the roster just for show.

Thats an indictment on Hightower more then anything. Him getting negative yardage on most of his runs hindered everything the O was trying to do. And yes it does explain why they are keeping Edge, because they still dont trust Hightower as a starter.

Not really. James is the only RB who has had any success running the football for Arizona in the last 10 years. Hightower has lots of company. Michael Pittman, Thomas Jones, Emmit Smith, Marcel Shipp and JJ Arrington.

The record and numbers with him as starter vs him not starting shows that the Cards can't win without Edge as starting RB. Just like the numbers show that the Cards don't need Boldin.
