Looks like we kept Smith and Castille at FB, like last year. I wondered about Harrington making the change from DE to LB quick enough with this much depth. Beisel must have a lot of respect from the coaches. Now we wait for news on the starting QB, The Coach hinted he might not wait until next Sunday to make it known. Also, I am curious if they will bring any recently cut punters in for a look. I guess even a Kicker isn't out of the question but my hunch is there won't be a move there. I also would be surprised if any other players are cut and replaced with another team's castaway but an O-Lineman or anything is possible. (except at QB, we're set 1-2-3 there, just don't know which order)

nevermind, that was quick!

I could see us making a play for one of the Broncos punters as well as their runningback that started last night if he is cut. He seems to have the speed that we are looking for and can return kicks.

What a great story....Highsmith the undrafted rookie makes the team. Hopefully we can return Harrington to the PS along with Keyes, Long, and Dykes.

Highsmith made the team because they knew he'd be picked up by someone else if they tried to sneak him onto the practice squad. Sad to see Tafoya go, I thought he played well. Strange to see Beisel stay over Tafoya, I didn't think he showed much.

I thought Long played well too, Hopefully he clears waivers so we can get him back on the practice squad.

My only surprise is that Oliver Celestine made the team.

No complaints. He is a good special teams guy and can tackle well.

My surprise cut was Moore. I thought he would bring some intensity to our defense. In the end the niners knew what they were doing when they cut him, or our new depth is forcing us to cut good players. I think it is a little of both.

Depending on the team, its philosophy and the quality of its roster, the waiver wire will be scoured and rescoured - with some teams snapping up guys they feel can improve their roster while making additional corresponding cuts to make room.

All of which means - No time to relax just yet - "it ain't over til it's over."
