Everyone continues to say the Cardinals need consistancy at the QB spot but it is impossible when you have the worst OL in the league.

How about just crappy execution by the players? No blindside pass blocking. Poor zone coverage. etc

I just know that you automatically go to Whis Hater mode at any given opportunity. You probably blame him when there is a traffic jam on the freeway during rush hour. It's become rather pathetic.

Nice assessment. The talent is all of a sudden complete garbage but the coaching remains top notch. Keep sipping the Kool Aid.

What is pathetic is not being able to begin to place ANY blame at his feet for how the season transpired.

Amen.

It's not all on Whis.

It's because of the players we lost (leadership), a big performance drop-off in some great players (like AW, DRC), poor play at nearly all positions, lack of a quality OC or DC, etc.

But if it makes you feel better - blame Whis and keep believing how great the year would have been with Leinart.

Is any on Whiz? ANY??????? You can honestly say that he had this team prepared week in and week out?

It is pretty safe to say that it would have been much better than it was based on Leinart's past production alone. The QB position was a mess and the WORST it has been in the history of the team here in AZ.

The 1991 Phoenix Cardinals disagree with you.

10 TDs 25 INTs 51% 189 yards a game

This year sucked for sure but we've been worse.

How do you know that Whis is making the draft picks? The front office has been business as usual IMO, no difference than before Whis got here.

And Keith is developing and was starting to play pretty well before his injury. As bad as the offensive line is, one of the problems is a dearth of young players to develop. We just haven't used enough picks on lineman over the past 4 years.

That's how we know he's making the picks. Our FO gives the coaching staff a lot of say in personnel decisions

Amazing. I repeat, we're having a bad season yet Whiz gets completely exonerated by some on these boards but is given all the credit in the world for our successes. Sorry to say that you can't have it both ways.
But, but, Whiz took us to the Super Bowl!!!!!

Let's be honest here, shall we? Who on this board has "completely exonerated" Whiz? No one.

Winning the division two years in a row and getting to the Super Bowl has at least earned Whiz a mulligan this season. He gets at least one more season to fix this, IMO.

It is pretty safe to say that it would have been much better than it was based on Leinart's past production alone. The QB position was a mess and the WORST it has been in the history of the team here in AZ. I am not pro Leinart like a lot of you guys like to paint me but I am anti, VERY ANTI the DECISION to cut him. The timing was a joke and the season was lost the second Whiz made the move. It isn't about "pretending to know" what the outcome would be. It is about making sane moves and putting your best cards forward. I said it then and I will always stick by it. This season didn't have to happen. If you haven't noticed Seattle could win the division with a losing record. PATHETIC how this all transpired.

I'm sure the year would have been much better with a QB the coach hated and players were split on.

Again, it is "pretending to know" because it did not happen.

Leinart before his collarbone injury was a different QB. Never seemed quite the same after that though. If he was clearly a great QB we would never have been able to cut him. There are so few decent QB's in the league that some team out there would have snapped him up for a pick or two.

1. Do you believe that Graves does not invite the input of his coaching staff as it pertains to the types of players they want? Levi Brown was said to be hand picked by Grimm from many sources.

That's one pick. Parcells picked Bobby Carpenter with the Cowboys in the first round. He was terrible; even good coaches will make bad decisions.

2. I am not sold on the development of Keith.

Fair enough, but I thought he settled in before he was hurt and was beginning to play good football before his injury. Bridges hasn't been a huge upgrade, definitely a downgrade as a run blocker.

Great weekend for me. Watch the Big 10 get smashed like division II teams on Saturday and then watch the Cards get smashed like Big 10 teams on Sunday. I can hardly wait for Tuesday night :(.

This was a strategic loss for the Cardinals as their goal was to convince the niners that Alex Smith is their starting qb next year.

Bingo! The Cards must focus on improving the o-line above all else.

Very true.

Matt Leinart looked scared to make a play after the injury.

When it is obvious we should run...we pass.

When it is obvious we should pass...we run.

We were all told that with Warner gone this team would rely more on the run...so we passed more than ever.

So can the Cardinals get a better pick than #5 in the draft?

Unless they've changed the meaning of the word exonerated, I can't think of a single recent post that qualifies. But, it doesn't matter how many times we say it's still too early to crucify the guy - some people read that as unconditional support of the coach. We're a long ways away from the blind "in Whiz we trust" days.

And yet, when it is obvious we should run, we pass and the defense already seems to know it. Same thing when we should pass but opt to run. Something isn't right here. (DUH!)
