If we lose this game, it's worse than losing to San Fran.

They can't run the ball. We should easily be able to shut them down with the front seven and leave Adrian to double team Muhammed. The other corners should be able to hold their own long enough for us to get pressure on Jake. Jake's finger will most likely hinder the passing game so defensively, we win this matchup.
Offensively, it's time to put Q back in the slot. He has the best RAC ability of anyone so get him in space where he doesn't have a defender on him immediately after the catch. He runs one of the sweetest slant patterns I've seen.
If Emmitt doesn't play, we're in trouble. He is great at picking up the blitz and being an extra blocker. I think we're going to have to pass to set up the run in this game. We've got the receivers, it's time to throw it up there anytime there's single coverage, and let them make the play.
All in all, there's no reason we shouldn't win this game.

Just heard on KDUS that Karlos Dansby and Emmitt Smith did not practice today and are questionable for Panthers' game. I think Dansby has a bad ankle and I don't know what's wrong with Emmitt.

Nathan Poole, Josh McCown, and Renaldo Hill were limited in practice but are probable.

A long look at the defensive and offensive stats for Az and Carolina shows very similar teams with some exceptions in Carolina's favor. Panthers have a much better passing attack. They get more yardage, more TDs, and take fewer sacks.

On defense, they've only given up 5 passing TDS, best in the league. Cards have given up 10 TDs.

If Emmitt doesn't play, we lose this game big, since they will tee off on our oline and kill McCown. If Emmit is healthy, and Dansby can't play, we'll still lose, but by a smaller margin.

If both Emmitt and Dansby can play, we'll still lose a nail-biter. Any way I look at it, we lose.

Panthers play close games every week and their pass rush is coming around. They destroyed Rattay last week.

Carolina 27
Arizona 13

Do not concur about losing if Emmitt sits, Skkorp. If Hambrick starts I think we will all be pleasantly surprised with his production. There are yards available for someone that will hit the hole hard and break one tackle (Where are you Marcell S.?)

I'm not dissing Emmitt's year, it's better than I expected, but he's replacable. Also, it is time for a more wide open passing game. McCown has his "3 wides". He needs to step up and use them.

I'm not predicting a win, but we should take this contest :stick: . We will have to "Seize the Day" with an effective passing game and the defense showed in the second half of the Giants game.

Well, if the panthers fire Peete out there as their starter, THAT certainly ups our chances. I think we're like 3-0 vs. Peete all time :D

Seriously, I think Hambrick can fill in adequately for Smith.

I'm kinda with Cheese on this one. This team is gritty, and a little crazy. They'll find some way to win on Sunday.

24-10 Cardinals!

Whooo! Come on Josh! This could be your day man! Lets get it going!

I can understand Panthers winning, but with that much margin??? Ain't gonna happen unless defense decides to not board the plane for the game...

I hope to hell I am wrong and would love to eat crow.

Agree

with Schuester here. Ham"brick" will have at least 75yds. and can plow the end zone, if he gets the nod. I'm hopoing this is one of those games that Josh turns the corner.
I say Cards by 10.

THIS is the game that will determine whether we are playoff bound or not. I honestly believe that a win here & we'll be on our way to 9 or 10 wins. It would mean 2 consecutive road wins & 3 in a row for the 1st time in eons. All that being said, THIS is also the game where Josh gets pulled if he doesn't step up. I know this has been rumored forever, but this is too critical a game & Green will pull Josh at halftime if need be. DG knows that a playoff berth is dependent on THIS game & he'll act accordingly. My prediction: Josh plays OK in the 1st half, but we're down & Green wants a little more. King throws for 150 yds & 2 td's in the 2nd half & Cardinals are on their way to the playoffs. McCown will continue to start, but King is ready to go. That is how DG will handle the remainder of this season.

This is a game that will set the pace for the remainder of the season. If we fail to win the doubters will have all the ammo they need. If we win, there will be no one with any football intelligence that can question wether this team has turned the corner and is a real contender for the play offs! Lets go Cards, lets get this one!

We are going to play a very beat up team. Everything we have done up to this contset is on the line. Are we a good getting to be great defense or not? These guys have no running game and the passing game is close to gone as well. I honestly believe if we do not turn the ball over they may not get into the end zone against us. Their defense has so many holes it looks like swiss cheese.

Run, Run and then run somemore. Josh may only throw 10 times in the first half. IMO we beat these guys up as long as we accomplish the following.

1 No Turnovers
2.Time of possesion we need 35 plus minutes
3.Under 50 yards in Penalties

If we beat them in those three areas we will beat them bad.

Our offense is abysmal. We can't rush because there is no fear of the pass. Josh is ineffective out of the gates, again, as always (save last week), and we have a hard time moving the chains. Our defense dominates, as their rushing attack is abysmal and we key on the pass. Our defense scores a TD and Rackers gets us a couple looooong ones.

What?
I see the Panthers sniffing out a win they gauranteed early in the season and a Cards team just too prepared.

Panthers thought this one would be easy and kinda still think so.

Cards have got to keep up the intensity and are playing for the season.

The Panthers screwed up.

I say our first 14 unlike the Giants will go unanswered and Carolina will melt down.

The Panthers have so many injuries that we should win this game. We have a better defense and our offense is due for a breakout game.

The key

for McCown in this one is to run early and keep them honest. If there's an open lane and he can't find someone by a 4 count he has to take off. Before everything collapses around him. It'll make a huge difference if he runs for 35-60 yds.

i agree with you. the problem? how many times has josh actually taken off this season? he hasn't used one of his best measureables - his wheels. and i just can't figure out why not.

I sure wish they would bootleg Josh more. They ran some handoff/fake boot legs and it seemed like there was nobody covering it for the Giants.

We rarely if ever see designed rollouts or fake handoff bootlegs with this offense. Seems to me if you have a QB that can run you should at least put that in the mind of the opposing defense. It might open up the middle for those inside handoffs a little more.

Agree ouchie

and Chaz. I'm as suprised as anyone. It's a big factor at keeping the beasts at bay.

Also Chaz

it could be one of the reasons our play calling is in question sometimes.
It seems it's very limiting for everyone.

I'll have had to beat up 5 or 6 Panthers fans and I'll be drunk by the start of the 3rd Quarter. Oh and I'll see Snakester and Brandon at the half!

This is the week that we open up the offense.(I Hope) Looking at the Panthers record it looks like they are playing better on the road then at home. They have lost all 4 of their home games by an average of 10 points. This is the week Josh gets his confidence back or King takes over.
