So much for Batiste. Beaten like a drum on the safety.

Previous play I don't know, I suppose Kolb is supposed to step up except Williams didn't get enough of his man to make that easy. He moves left not right but that's where Colledge pushed his man and thus the grounding.

He just doesn't seem to know how to react but this OL sure doesn't do him any favors either.

Batiste got killed. Williams picked up the twist on the LB's really well, but then Levi got killed. Nothing Kolb could do.

You guys are funny, you know why they call Skelton double duece right??? It doesn't matter which QB is back there, if we are deep in our own territory, our QB is going down. I'm just tickled that Kolb isn't hurt. :D

I will say this...regardless if it's Kolb or the Oline, Wiz was steaming!

The problem was Williams blocked his man inside exactly where Kolb would ideally step up. He got the block, but Kolb couldn't step there tried to left right where Colledge pushed his man when he beat Colledge around the end.

Started with a boneheaded decision to run the kickoff out even though it was 9 yards deep in the end zone.

Yep but everyone's gonna blame #4. Zero protection imo

Horrible protection. Batiste got blasted, Levi got wasted, only one who held his block, amazingly is Ryan Williams on the LB twist. Kolb had no chance.

I seem to recall Skelton getting zero protection plenty of times last season--yet he also had a tendency to step up in the pocket and shrug some of those rushers off. Kolb simply panics in that situation. I'm not claiming Skelton is anywhere near perfect in pressure situations, but at least when you step up, the sack isn't anywhere near as devastating. From what I heard, Kolb took a 10-yard sack on the first sack. Inexcusable.

You have to show some ounce of awareness, know your hot reads and you cant ONLY be willing to throw to wide open players.

Exactly. The O-line undoubtedly sucks, but Kolb has to get it out quicker.

Something tells me we're going to see a couple rolls to the right next series.

Agree. Just bad protection. It's sad when Ryan Williams is your best blocker.

I seem to recall Skelton getting 2 safeties in one game, I think they were on consecutive possessions.

Kolb didn't handle it well but the OL can't block, why we threw the ball there is beyond me.

My god the excuses, the guy did he best to get a safety the play before, grounding while doing 360s in the pocket, that last play he takes the snap in the endzone and chose to tuck the ball quickly rather than at least ATTEMPT a pass to the hot read.

Personally I think he cant even see the hot read in a confined pocket. Its the only fathomable reason why he never attempts passes in those situations. He gets pressured and he either stops even looking for receivers or completely forgets where they are supposed to be.

I don't mind throwing, but you gotta go shotgun at least.

Yup, Williams is hot right now, could've dug us out of the hole.

No doubt, Skelton did earn that Double Deuce moniker. Difference being, lack of pocket awareness and screwing up by running backwards is a complete aberration for Skelton--for Kolb it is habit.

There's no excuses, it's just football. I think we've all agreed when they aren't playing that Kolb sucks, but when the protection sucks we gotta call a spade a spade. It was horrible.
