Levi's ineptitude aside, our biggest concern has to be this defense. We knew it would be worse than last year but this was real bad. No mention of DD, Campbell, or PP doing anything--that is just bad scheming. They weren't anywhere in the facinity to make plays. Even our 6 man fronts generated no penetration. Secondary was shredded as well. And as has been mentioned the Rams arent good. Our lack of speed showed.

Yep
BA ****ed himself as the HC of the Cards when he fired Ray Horton, it was the perfect combination

Yep. Dockett had 1 tackle, 1! Campbell had 3. So glad Bowels turned them loose.

Levi is a joke and should not start next week. Move Potter in there and the only way Levi should see the field is at G. At least Potter has the ability to improve, Levi is done.

Todd Bowles is a loser. I dont know what the management saw in this guy. He speaks the obvious with no confidence nor intelligence. There is no reason Bradford should have walked from this game without even being hit. After getting literally no pressure the entire game, he calls that 6 man blitz on that big play to Cook at the end of thr game.

That 3rd and 2 was an awful call. Good coach that made a bad call IMO. Lasr time Ellington was out there, he and Palmer werent on the same page, why trust those 2 to win the game?

What was the obsession with Javier Arenas? He made 2 horrid plays today and then was given the chance at the end.

Dockett was a waste today, PP probably kept Givens in check but thats probably the worst reciever he will face this year. Given the credibility, i will blame Bowles for PP not being in plays.

The D held the Rams to two FG's after TO's deep in their own territory, they just held the Rams to a 3 out whne needed, oh yeah, they scored a TD.

The D wasn't the main problem today. It was the pass blocking and special teams.

The Cards had a long field all day. I wonder what their average starting field position was. It couldn't have been good.

So our pass rush wasn't an issue? Jared Cook wasn't an issue either?

We are just not good enough to overcome the number of errors we made today. Too many sacks, penalties, poor decisions and turnovers for a team of our talent level to overcome. Offense looked better, defense looked worse. Levi still struggles w/ speed rushers and our pass rush is still an issue. Now, that shouldn't be unexpected since we did very little to change that in the offseason. It was unfortunate that the Cardinals had to keep in TEs to help Levi because they were exploiting those matchups.

As a team, I am encouraged. Less for this year, but I think we will at least be able to identify our shortcomings come the offseason. LT, OLB, and TE are big needs and probably the top ones. It looked to me like we can win with Palmer as long as we can do better to protect him.

Yes those were issues but it sure is easy to overlook the good the defense did today. The NFL is an offensive league. Teams are going to move the ball and score points.

Way to make something that is not personal, personal. Just because my expectations were more on point than yours for the first week doesn't mean you need to take your ball and go home. I believe things when I see them not when someone new comes around and spins the yarn I want to hear. But that is fine, keep piping your clown ass off to those who don't accept buffalo nickels as a legitimate payment method.

I'm not the first on this board to point this out to you, so don't blame me for your persistent nonsensical ramblings. I'm not saying I bought anything being sold (nice try, though), but in your case, all you do is whine, complain, and tantrum about this team. It's old hat and no one wants to hear it from you.

I watched the 1H and popped in and out during dinner during the 2H.

The first thing that hit me was that defense was getting blown off the ball too often and that - one on one - we missed 90% of our tackles.

The second thing was that we were getting out-executed - their screens looked slick. Most of ours were an adventure.

I only saw the first Levi sack (but on that one, he looked thoroughly undressed.

Is it my imagination or do too many of our 3rd down plays fall 2-yards short of the 1st down marker? Why is that?

Cook was O-O-B on the play (under review) that was ruled a TD.

honestly, you need to just shut up. The guy just talks FOOTBALL and if he thinks we're going to suck...which it looks like we will, that ain't his problem.

calling him out in this thread is ridiculous.

He doesn't talk football. He talks depression and why we all should slit our wrists for cheering on this team. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why should I shut up when I'm addressing an issue that others have brought up to him?

1) I'm certainly pissed at the game, but if a poster is acting a fool, I'm going to call him/her out on it regardless of my mood. That's been my M.O. here for years.

2) Take your focus off of this convo and read my others posts. 100% football.

After everyone settles down and thinks about this game, they are going to realize a few things.

No. 1, the majority of the board thought we would lose this first game and we did. I do believe if we played in Phoenix, we would have won.
No. 2, it wasn't a blowout. We played them even up until the final moments.
No. 3, let's not forget all the changes in personnel that were made on this team. It's going to take a while for all these players and coaches to jell and get familiar with each other.
No. 4, the defense and offense both had moments were they looked great. As we get further into the season, if we can get consistency, we will improve and with the personnel the Cardinals have, I believe we will.
No. 5, we do have some playmakers and individual effort was really high this game. I never felt that last year.
No. 6, don't despair. I believe the Cards showed us they can compete in this league.

We give more leeway in the 24 hrs following a game, but if you personally attack the poster again, you will get a ban. The same goes for cheesebeef and his comments on Mitch and Catfish.

honestly, since Catfish gets to call anyone who disagrees with him, like Duckjake, a troll (in a thread midweek), he was completely fair game to mocked and destroyed for being the Pollyana that he's been all season.

Sounds like a personal problem. Depends on your glass. Mine is half full. Yours is empty.;)

Ha...problem is you've been saying the same thing for 10 years. Two of those years you've been right. seems if there's a personal problem, it's yours 40. :)

He didn't say anything that wasn't being said by a lot of us so I'm not sure what got you started here. I think we're in for a long season. I'm not angry or ranting, it's just what I see when I look at this team. We can't stop the run, we lack the speed and size to cover the way Bowles wants us to cover, we can't keep our QB safe and although our running game is improved we're still not much of a run team. Oh yeah, we have an average FG kicker and a below average punter. We're a bad team.

So if the majority of the board thought that we would go 0-16 and we did that would be ok with you?
