Cards/Rams week 1 game thread

We can't stop the run, we lack the speed and size to cover the way Bowles wants us to cover, we can't keep our QB safe and although our running game is improved we're still not much of a run team. We're a bad team.

Teams can get away with one of these in today's NFL, but when you have 2 of those issues it's tough to win consistently. When your team has all 3 weaknesses, you're in deep doodoo!

This is who the Cards are & IMO BA ****ed himself by firing Ray Horton...it was a perfect match.

Miami had 20 yards rushing on 23 carries. Maybe Horton got mad at all the ASFN posters dissing him for not being able to stop the run last year and went a little too far the other way.

He didn't say anything that wasn't being said by a lot of us so I'm not sure what got you started here. I think we're in for a long season. I'm not angry or ranting, it's just what I see when I look at this team. The Rams had 67 yards on 27 carries for a 2.8 yard average today. The longest run was 10 yards. I don't know about you, but I think this was a pretty good day for stopping the run.

Put me on notice. You sure did. How dare I saw that our defense is lacking athleticism as they are being decimated by the athletically gifted Tavon Austin and Jared Cook?

How dare I saw that Feeley is old and will struggle to consistently make 50+ yard field goals so I am not going to hammer him for missing at the end of the half?

How dare I then say that the missed field goal would be key to the outcome of the game when it turned out that it did?

How dare I say that this game emphasized our weaknesses in rushing the passer, protecting the QB, and shooting ourselves in the foot which will cause many games this season to be close losses which is what happened this game?

Yeah, put me on notice for talking about football rather than my personal feelings. Put me on notice for having opinions which are mirrored on the field rather than homer dreams thru red glasses. Just because I am a huge fan of this team doesn't mean I am going to stick my head in the sand and ignore it's obvious and historical deficiencies. More to the point, it is well within the premise of this forum's purpose to allow me to do so. So either put me on "ignore" or try posting a response that has some sort of football factual basis. If neither of those work, do the board a favor and go pound sand you clown.

I was on a plane out east during the game, spent $10 ordering NFL Rewind one week package only to watch this game, and stayed up past 2AM local time watching it after the SNF game finished. Levi Brown owes me 10 freaking dollars and a pillow for a good night's sleep!!!
