He did and said he was leaving after the season.

Then why did the Cards release Adrian Wilson? With those statements Rhodes should have been the one released not a Cardinal icon.

i bet Cbus is happy
No affect.

I thought he played well 2 years ago and was decent last year. He's not worth 6 mill on any team though.

I also think he was overrated by this board but even his best fans can't think he was worth that amount and if he refused an extension, he wrote his own ticket out of town.

Rhodes released for cap purposes Wilson released due to the staff thinking his skills are diminished.

One theory might be the defensive players are really unhappy about Horton and want to leave now.

Sounds like Horton poisoned the well after he heard "****". I wouldnt be surprised if Rhodes and others end up in Cleve.

I've been trying to prepare you for this. The writing was on the wall. To his credit, he had his best year last year, especially when they moved him up to the box. Horton got through to him and I would expect him to give the Browns a good look.

2010 was his best year when he WAS the defense. 2012 was great, too.

This is not a good move. We went from having one of the best safety tandems in the league to Rashad Johnson and Justin Bethel.

In my offseason plan I had Rhodes being cut. So this doesn't shock me at all. $6M is a big chunk of change for a team that is lacking in cap space.

I think we can offically say we are in rebuild mode.

If that's the case then they can Golf Tango Foxtrot Oscar. I want no part of any player that doesn't want any part of being on the team no matter who it is.

All part of the "flight plan".

Please fasten your seat belts; the barf-bag is in the seat-pocket in front of you.

Fine, if the players are going to act like a baby about Horton, as Horton did about not getting the HC job, then don't let the door hit ya in the arse on the way out.

That's being hypocritical I think. Coaches come in all the time and get rid of the former coach's players and replace them with his guys so why is it acting like a baby for a player to want to play for a coach that is his guy? Especially a coach who came in and turned a sow's ear into a silk purse.

Holy cow. I understand the money angle but not the production angle.

But if he didn't want to take less money, that's that. Sucks. I liked Kerry.

If Wilson's release wasn't about money why do it now? To give him a better chance to catch on somewhere else? Why wouldn't they wait until TC? Especially with a player like AW.

The question is for what purpose are the Cards clearing so much cap space?

6 mill was a lot for Rhodes, but he was a good player. They must have something planned right? They are cutting out everyone.

We seriously cut Rhodes before Kolb?

Because they were stuck on a wall with the meager cap space they had.

Stuck how? They're using the freed cap space to replace the players they released. And now it looks as though people are starting to say they didn't have any needs before the cuts that can't be addressed in the draft.

I guess if you look at it as Arians getting rid of players to bring in his guys it makes sense.

My ex HS team could beat the hell out of the Az Cardinals this year!!!

This is simply ridiculous & I hope Michael & his father enjoy 20k in the stands for the next 3-4 yrs unless they magically are awarded a QB by the NFL for pity purposes.

A damn shame we took possibly the best defense in Cardinal history & chunked into the Grand Canyon in 2 months :bang:
