Would you want to be on the Cards roster right now? After taking probably the best defense in team history & tossing it into the Grand Canyon in just 2 months.

This is just like the old days when we are going to have to overpay to get good talent here if at all. I would also bet guys like Fitz, DWash & CC wish they didn't sign extensions here now. What does this do for future negotiations with PP? Hmmmm he's outta here.

Same thing they did in 2010. Kurt Warner left to take a tour of the Grand Canyon and the Cards threw the defending NFC West team in after him. And of course we know how that worked out.

A 35 year old safety? I will say he had surprising numbers for a 34 year old last year. Of course to our AARP coaching staff he probably looks like a little kid.

Ok. See yeah.

Thanks for letting us know and a good year to tell us. While cleaning house, why not? Extra 6mil towards other things.

Somebody posted that Rhodes turned down an extension and said he wanted to leave last season. Bankybruce I think. But with the NFL's policy of omerta as usual it doesn't come out until after Rhodes is released. Pretty good timing for the Cards PR department as well.

I think the new coaches have really been studying the tapes and are weeding out those guys who they don't feel plays to their expected level or won't fit in their scheme. This is probably a good thing for us for a change. We have been losing with the same old guys for long enough.

It'll be interesting to see what sort of secondary guys we bring in beyond Powers. Are Cason, Nnamdi still possible? Ed Reed? All hard to say, but we officially have a ton of roster turnover that's for sure.

But with Rhodes now gone and Stanton signed, Kolb is most likely on the way out imo, and that should mean we should have the cap room to sign some more guys.

So far at least with the contract numbers announced we haven't broken the bank, but still more numbers need to be shown.

Arians/Bowles are definitely bringing in their guys. I feel better than I did yesterday, but still too soon to say overall one way or the other.

We definitely created more holes, but we also seemed to fill some of them.

What a joke. Of course Rhodes doesn't want to take a pay cut and waste more of his playing years in AZ. Plenty of teams need safeties and he will be one of the best available on the market. Only the Cardinals.

More stupidity.

The ghost of Ray Horton will be haunting us for a year or two I guess.

I would rather have Adub, Horton, and Rhodes than what we will be subjected to next year.

They can't honestly think that the team is better now than it was 2 months ago. Can they?

Are you predicting that he'll find 5,6 million a year in the market?

The final 53 man roster is set at the end of August. We'll see.

Only because we didn't have a QB.

You don't toss away most of the pierces of the best defense in team history because you just want to.

Yep. I still don't get how or why you blow up the best thing (defense) you have to sell to the players & fans in just 2 shorts months! Unbelievable

But we're overreacting :D

Nope. Probably around 4 mil, but just because we were overpaying him by 2 mil doesn't mean he wasn't more productive than anything we will bring in.

You can complain about the price of a Ferrari and drive a Ford or you can complain about the price of a Ferrari and drive a Ferrari. Either way, I know which one wins in a race.

I'd love to know what he turned down from the Cards.

Your guarantee can't pay for a pint, friend.

Then why are you bothering to ask if Chopper is guaranteeing 5/6 million for Rhodes? Seems a bit incongruous.

Rhodes could get $5-6 million. Toler got almost $5 million. Aaron Ross deal could be five a year. Rhodes is better than Ross. This free agent market is crazy nobody knows what players might get. Not even you.

Yep

Just like the Ravens wanting Q to take a paycut from $6mil to $4mil...so they traded away possibly the #2 reason they won the SB. They will sorely miss what he does next year.

I'm simply asking, Chopper. He didn't make any silly prediction that I was reacting too. There's a difference. I somehow doubt, however, that a post 30 safety is going to garner the coin you suggest.
