So many of you missed my “not necessarily” line. The point I was trying to make was that ALL that matters is that Brissett has the experience we absolutely have to have going into a season where the floor is a playoff position. But, let’s be honest, any long term injury to Murray ends our season. But, that applies to almost any NFL team.

Very meh at that price. If you paid attention to last season, Brissett was terrible to watch. I get that his team sucked but just watch the tape and he was terrible.

5 starts last season, 103 yards/game.

2 TDs, 1 int, 1 fumble lost. 59 completion %.

This just smells like a Pretzel signing and that sucks because he's a mediocre OC with no imagination in the passing game.

Have you seen Brissett play of late lol. If he has to play for any extended period of time, it’ll be our running game & D that will have to drag us over the finish line. Can be done, but it won’t be pretty.

“Daniel Jones has upside” is pretty hysterical. He’s also in year 7 now. And has been utter crap. What upside does he actually possess?

A history of winning a playoff game? More than any QB on this roster can say.

Just being snarky- but I’d take Daniel jones over brissett for sure- I think that would give you the best chance to win a game should Kyler need to miss time.

Super crazy for me to not be over the moon signing a washed back up even for a backup after going 12-22 in the last two years, while failing to get Daniel Jones, a backup QB with upside.

lol, Daniel Jones got $14m per year. He has a 3-13 record and the lowest passer rating in the league the last 2 years.

You want to pay Daniel Jones $14m per year instead of paying Brissett $6.25m? Have you been dropped on your head? Not that Jones would have signed here because the Colts are giving him a shot to start.

But it confirms something I suspected. You're either all about names rather than sense. Jones was a top 10 pick and 4 year starter so must be a good signing right? Or you just want to find any excuse, no matter how nuts, to crap on anything this team does. Either way, at least it confirms I can disregard your opinions.

My feedback on all signings so far has been (as posted here).

Sweat - It's fine, I think he's a Edge 2 but the money is ok and it improves the room for sure.
ADG - White is average and this guy is likely no worse.
Brissett - He's a solid #2 and one of the better backups in the league.

It just looks like support to all the people that are whiney little girls.

I wanted Jameis for the backup but Brissett is pretty much what every team is looking for in a backup. Good locker room guy, professional, can get in there and win a game if needed.
If there were superstar backup QBs, they’d be starters.

This was a scouting type move. He knows that offense. Brissett also has a turbo tax commercial that says bring in the backup. If he needs to win a couple games, fine. I would still draft a quarterback mid rounds.
