So of all the suggestions on this board this year the one time they listen is Rohan Davey?

That said, I'm happy, he's got an arm, he's likely not going to change our season but he has potential still and sitting behind Brady he might have learned a thing or 3.

Obviously not much, Russ... he got cut!!!

("A thing or three") Yup! He learned at the end of camp that three guys were ahead of him. :D

Forgive me if I don't get excited about this.

Let the QB lottery continue.

As a franshise we can continue to bet on the longshots and hope the sheer numbers will someday payoff.

Gotta love a strategy similar to what toothless drunken old men use at the racetrack.

Right now we have 4 QB's on the roster and not one of them excites me in the least. Awesome.

Gary Hogeboom stills looks to be in shape. Let's bring him in.

Nice signing.

Now to work on that dreadful OLine.....

Okay.

Now we need Seattle to cut Walter Jones so we can sign him. And then, if St. Louis cuts Orlando Pace and Pittsburg cuts Alan Faneca and Chicago cuts Olin Kreutz we can sign 'em all and fix our offensive line!!

Whew!! :biglaugh:

I agree it's a shot in the dark, but he does have a very strong arm. Green has gotten great play out of big arm QB's his whole coaching career. Not like we chose to sign Davey over a great DT or OL so it's worth a look.

Russ:

Nick Saban knows Rohan Davey as well as anyone, and had him scheduled for a visit in Miami as a potential backup/replacement for Frerotte. I'd say that this is one of the better--and more timely--personnel moves the Cardinals have made recently.

Being the odd man out with the Patriots doesn't mean Davey won't be an upgrade over the two healthy QBs already on the Cards roster. I'll be interested to see how he performs on the field.

Wow.. And to think, I was merely settling for Jacob Rogers and Marques Ogden, with Ross Verba being the longest of long shot possibilities.

I guess I put my expectation levels too low huh?? :biglaugh:

love this move. but it ain't gonna help wakefield. ugh we suck.

I also like this move. I do not know how this guy will pan out but I do have an idea of how McCown will pan out. He has more experience than our other QB. Sometimes you can get lucky and it is about time we get just a little. I suspect Warner could miss 3-4 games as that type of injury is not good. Garcipara of the Cubs missed almost the entire baseball season with a torn groin.

But wait.. Weren't the Chargers going to release LT and the Colts about to cut Manning? Also, wasn't Tony Gonzalez being offered to the Cards for a 7th rounder?

Hey, now THAT'S dreaming

And the NFL steps in and gives us pity by allowing us to draft the first 10 picks.

If all of the above were to miracuously happen, we might break .500 next year!! ;)

Yeah I'm sure the team would love that. It is clear that none of the Qb's on the roster are the Qb's of the future, but nothing spells disaster like starting someone who doesn't even know the playbook.

Some of the guys who supposedly know the playbook are playing like they have never seen it.

As for Rohan...eh, whatever. Just waiting for the first Lord of the Rings (Pohan) joke/reference.

Good move. I think Rowan is better than any QB on our roster not named Kurt.

Our offensive coordinator is better than Josh and Navarre????

Well, since I'm dreaming, then the NFL would pay their signing bonuses and none of their $$ would go against our cap. Or just triple our cap. Whatever.

I'm almost prone to say I'd take his not knowing the playbook and playing rather than Josh knowing it and stinking it up. Rohan's heart is much bigger than Josh's.

Well I am sure he could figure out the dumbed down playbook of Josh. A dump off pass to Femi, and an air ball to Fitz real quick.

Party pooper.

Ok, then how about this.

Give us picks 11-32.

Still a lot of money but believe it or not less then the top 10 plus you get more players. Plus we can completely draft a whole new offense and a whole new defense.
