Whats up! Longtime lurker, first time poster. I have to say the defense doesn't look encouraging at this point. Granted, I'm at work and can only watch the play by play on sportsline but still....

Welcome, sort of. Nothing encouraging at all... except 1 play by hood, after he was called for pass interference.

It's kind of a bad sign that Ahman Green was ripping our defense for some big gains, meanwhile Edge is only getting 2 or 3 yards a carry.

Good observation. The D had the same problem last week. Texans worked the Cards problem with overrunning plays to perfection. Also the middle of the field was wide open again just like the first few series against the Raiders. Again give up a big play on 3rd and long. Another PI penalty. Not real good at tackling again either. Bright spot was the play by Hood.

Was it a mistake to keep Pendergrast? These are the same mistakes they were making last year.

Love the offense so far this season. The D continues to worry me.

It seems that CP's defenses usually star slowly, but come on later in games. Lets hope they can improve on that.

Give the starting RB job to Shipp. I have been saying that since through Jones, Smith, Arrington, and now the Edge days. Shipp has been the best runningback all those years on our team.

"Smart" - stupid penalties, Leinart tucking the ball and not sliding quickly enough
"disciplined" - overpursuit, nobody staying in their gaps.
"tough" - we're getting bulldozed by a horrible offensive line. Berry is invisible on run support.

I know it's early, but Houston looks like they're in midseason form compared to us. this ain't pretty.

This is where Leinart's playing time pays off. Last season he doesn't throw that pass to Fitz. Also heads up on the TD.

It took almost 20 years but it looks like we finally have a superstar at QB.
