Yeah, because we as fans are so spoiled by all the great QB play we've seen since the team relocated to AZ. Geeze, CP played another good game and we are still in the fight this late into the season. But give him 2 years tops or we're in trouble?

So because we've had terrible QB's we can't hope for better than Palmer?

I am not cherry picking, I stated that with improved OL play Palmer can play a few more years for us and stated that improved OL play will give us a good QB. What is s hard to understand about that?

Improved OL + QB who is good with clean pocket = success

Simple math, now show me something to dispute this.

Also, for all you know, he could be have a higher rating under pressure than most QB's, but because he is under pressure so much, his over all rating is lower.

Well if his QB rating is top-3 with zero pressure and his overall QB rating is #24 among all starters (according to NFL.com) you have to assume he's horrible facing pressure. That's Carson Palmer's reputation. He can't move or throw on the run. When the D is in his grill it's over.

He's a tough SOB and better than what we've had but I don't want a mid-30's stopgap for more than 1-2 years.

How many of those picks were on tips/deflections? The only pick that wasn't cause by CP getting hit or tips was the miscommunication between Fitz and CP.

Thing is CP just simply never let's any picks get into his head and he keeps on fighting.

Sure it helps he has a fantastic D to help keep the game close but CP is tough as nails and a true competitor. I would actually look at signing him to an extension.

Statue + poor decision maker + mid-30's = not good

Palmer improved but everyone knows exactly what he is. Average.

Second best QBR over the last 11 weeks in the league.

Got Cards to 10 wins while learning new offense and getting everyone on same page

Unflappable

Not Kevin Kolb, not Skelton, not Lindley...nuff said

I was only able to follow the box score on the computer, but Palmer was KILLING me today. That said, he threw the perfect pass when we needed it to win the game. We'd be crazy to go with anyone else for another year or two. Now, we'd be crazy not to also groom a young stud QB behind him too.

No he's worse. Kolb, Skelton and Lindley 5 interceptions vs Seattle last year. Palmer 6 interceptions vs Seattle this year. :D

Kidding aside, the only question I have about Palmer is that for a 10 year veteran with over 4600 pass attempts he sure seems to make some poor decisions in throwing the football. It's like he throws to a spot without bothering to look at the coverage.

But other than that I have no problem with him being QB for the next couple of years.

Gotta cut him some slack man... Whole new coaching staff. New system. New players. Fitz being hurt almost the entire season...
He's been money since week 6. As for yesterday, he's not the first good QB to go into Seattle and perform less than desired. Difference is, with a cranky elbow and a bad wheel, he hung in and gutted out the W! Huge props to Palmer... Huge!

This! If I cut PP21 slack after his TN game, I will cut Carson slack after a less than awesome performance in the Emerald City. Two key completions on the final TD drive.

That scramble on 3rd down to hit Ballard was the play of the game. As soon as Palmer started moving, the chances of success crashed. Amazed he made that throw across his body on the move for the first down.

I wonder what Carrol said to him at the end of the game. They had a little exchange there. Carrol was his coach in college, no?

Yes. It was a pretty short exchange. Here's what Carroll DIDN'T do: Give Palmer a smile, smack him on the helmet and say, "You did it kid. Good job." He's not that kind of guy. He's rah-rah for Carroll.

Way tougher - both mentally and physically, than I ever gave him credit for.
That is all...

I much agree. He was playing hurt both this week and last week. he took some big hits but came right back. Even sprinted out of his pocket to complete an important pass to a blocking TE. He probably does not have much more than 2-3 years left in his tank.

Fitz's concussion was the first of his career.

Another tough, gritty performance from Palmer today. Most QB's who would toss 4 picks on a bad wheel would've caved... Dude stayed with it. Stayed focus and made some great throws in the end. That scrambling toss in a key 3rd down was huge! And then, under pressure he makes a tremendous thrown to Floyd on another huge 3rd down... Incredible!

Two of those intercepts can be laid on bad luck and OL. That bouced ball in the end zone was mostly luck. He had a defender level him as he was throwing the ball on one of the intercepts. Still not sure what all the fuss was between Fitz and Palmer when Fitz was slow getting off the line. The HC and Palmer sure had some words on that play.
