I worry about him as a 6th man mainly because of how bad Knight failed in that same role for the team after putting up good numbers as a starter. They're different players but you don't know how each player will react to changing their roles like that. Warren is a solid scorer for the Suns right now and he may continue to be off the bench but until we see it happening I won't count on it.

Warren is a good counter weight to Booker though. It might be too easy to smother Booker if Warren isn't out there.

If the only way Warren can be effective is as a starter, than I am 100% for trading him off the team. He is our most tradable asset right now, but he is also woefully one-dimensional.

That's what makes him sixth man gold

Only 13 games left to go for the Suns. I wish they held the draft lottery right after the season. The waiting is hard.

I can agree with that but I don't think he should be traded simply because we're moving Jackson into the starting 5. If Warren is traded it should be in a trade that adds some value to this team. He is the 2nd best player on the roster right now and the only scorer behind Booker. As others have said, without Warren on the court opposing teams can focus on Booker that much more and that's not a good thing. Jackson has looked good the last 2 months but he hasn't gotten to the point where he's able to draw defensive attention away from Booker. Hopefully we'll start seeing that from him next season. Once he's able to do that, then it's time to figure out where Warren fits with the Suns. Jackson shouldn't be moved into the starting lineup until then, unless it's a smaller lineup like they went with tonight starting Jackson and Warren together.

May 15th! Just checked and it was held on the 16th last year so I guess it's not any earlier, I thought it might be since the season started earlier.

If we draft a scoring center then it could be a game changer on Warrens starting status.

True. But the league office needs time to figure out which of the teams in the lottery it most wants to "win" the first pick.

One would think the Suns are deserving of the first pick but I doubt if this factors into the equation.

How many times this season have the Suns been down 20 in the first quarter? I bet it's at least ten.

Ulis was back Uselis against the Cavs... good for the pick but bad news for Ulis as a piece of interest...

You bank on Jackson getting better and taking that leap. I would try and package Warren and our Bucks/Miami pick and Bender/Chriss to try and move up again in this draft.

Anyone not named Booker or Jackson can go

I was disappointed with Triano last night. Why was Ulis gifted so many minutes (15 is too many when Shaq had 11)? Why in the hell is Dudley playing? 20 minutes?! Reed can take those minutes and be helped by them and perform better.

Of course if he’s traded it should be to add value to the team.

What I mean by that is immediate value, not future picks or prospects, something that would make an impact right away, not 2-3 years down the road, if it ends up panning out at all. Kind of like how Bledsoe was traded for picks and cap space, that may help the Suns get better next year but it's questionable. It didn't make them better this year, that's for certain. However it did help them bottom out for a top pick, so it is a plus in that regard.

Ulis put up a double double in the Charlotte game and finally looked like the player he was at the end of last season. I imagine that is why he got as many minutes as he did. Neither he or Shaq was playing that well though so it wasn't that big of a deal in regards to who got how many minutes. Against a veteran team like Cleveland I can understand why Triano would go with the more experienced players though. Coming off the Charlotte game where both Reed and Shaq looked really good, you don't want to overplay them against veterans like Cleveland has and have them lose their confidence. Neither were playing well anyways so their limited minutes isn't that much of an issue. Hopefully both bounce back in their next game because they looked great against the Hornets.

Dudley had the best +/- on the team last night with a +5. He at least shows the younguns how to play the right way.

^this.

I’d rather see Dudley play than guys like Chriss moping around doing nothing and getting seemingly worse.

It is not so much how Dudley plays, it is that other players need to get experience. The eye test says that Dudley's +5 has a lot less to do with him than with the players on the court with/against him.
Eddie Johnson went on and on last night about how useful these games are to the young players. And mentioned that his conversations with Triano confirmed that. They are learning and auditioning for the jobs they want next season. Dudley does not fit in that equation. Just my opinion.
