Being the 2nd best or even the best scorer on the Suns isn’t saying much.I can agree with that but I don't think he should be traded simply because we're moving Jackson into the starting 5. If Warren is traded it should be in a trade that adds some value to this team. He is the 2nd best player on the roster right now and the only scorer behind Booker. As others have said, without Warren on the court opposing teams can focus on Booker that much more and that's not a good thing. Jackson has looked good the last 2 months but he hasn't gotten to the point where he's able to draw defensive attention away from Booker. Hopefully we'll start seeing that from him next season. Once he's able to do that, then it's time to figure out where Warren fits with the Suns. Jackson shouldn't be moved into the starting lineup until then, unless it's a smaller lineup like they went with tonight starting Jackson and Warren together.
To be a starting caliber player on goods teams in the NBA today, you have to be able to at least defend well or shoot the ball from 3 well. The contending teams generally have guys that can do both.
Warren can’t do either and he’s already been in the league five years now.
This is the highest his trade value will ever be.
