Awesome, Suns get to be worse next year and see their pick go to the Thunder. I'm fully expecting another draft night kidney punch by Sarver and crew.

No first rounder? WTF! The Suns better find a way to buyout Wallace's contract and cut Palvovic.

that is SUCH FREAKIN CRAP

Didn't Kerr come out and prononce that the Suns would NOT give Shaq away for nothing... So much for that..

I am just SICK... what a RIDICULOUS TRADE...

Dude was 18/8, and we get the #46 pick for him....

wow.. thats all I can say... WOW

NOT complete, ESPN reporting almost close, but this guy has seemed to jump the shark. He even steals his "exclusives" from ESPN, I have noticed that in the last couple of months...

Come one AsUdUdE. This doesn't really surprise you does it? This has been talked about for quite some time now.

Can ANYONE defend this move... ANYONE...

Please all of you Sarver Apologists, and people who have defended Kerr, please come and explain how this doesn't show what a horrible CHEAP BASTARD of an owner "SAVER" is...

We couldn't have gotten the #30 pick.. REALLY... Its not even about the player at #30 being that much better than #46, but it is the princpal of it...

What a HORRINDOUS TRADE...

I don't see why we'd get that 2nd rounder unless we were going to package it in a follow-up trade. Doesn't make sense to have 3 2nd rounders, not this team.

I expect to see many posts lamenting this trade even though it's been inevitable for a couple weeks.

Unbelievable, we trade the 2nd best center in the NBA last year to a team desperate for an inside presence, and we pick up two contracts we'll buy out and a 2nd rounder. Once again, the current front office has another master stroke.

No first rounder, no future first, no JJ Hickson, no Delonte West, nothing.

I think it's definitely time to rebuild, but am once again terrified at the current FO being in charge of the rebuilding.

If a salary dump was all they wanted to do then they shouldn't of gone around spouting off that they wouldn't trade Shaq in a pure salary dump:mulli:

I can only spin it one way, does anyone know if thre is some weird rule that I am not aware that in a trade, the sun can buy the players out of their contract WITHOUT counting against the cap?

If so the suns would be a little under the cap and have a little room to work in F.A.

But as far as I knw even in a buyout, it still counts against the cap..

thoughts??

I have a thought, how did Shaq lose that much value since 04? The Heat traded like 4 players for him, then it was 2 for Phoenix relatively good and now 2 people who aren't really even role players

Shaq was already expiring, is the issue. Did you honestly not expect people to bitch that we're giving away an 18/8 center just so management can pocket some change because Ben Wallace wants to retire?

Ben Wallace is expected to retire and they'll buyout Pavlovic's $1 mil and change.

That's a LOT of savings.

Buyouts still count against the cap (and for luxury tax), but it has been rumored for a while that Wallace will accept a buyout far below his slated salary. If that's true, it's what justifies this trade.

If you get lucky enough to have another thought, the answer might come to you.
