Welp, I have zero confidence this team can compete for anything now. This division's WRs are going to eat us for lunch.

Better hope the offense can score 80, because the only defense we're going to have at this point is going to be that NFL games are played in a 60 minute timeframe.

Nah, Cards will just sack the QB every pass play. Don't need a secondary :)

I know... losing one of the worst ranked CBs in the league is a devastating blow.

Mmmm we play in a division full of teams who want to run the ball and vs a group of wide receivers where only one guy is an actual deep threat.

Get ready to watch Alford and Byron Murphy get buried with an in-over-his-head rookie all year. I'm thrilled at the concept.

you mean the same concept as last year with PP that still won us 8 games, without what we hope is an improved pass rush? Or the year before when they went 3-3 in his absence?

reality is PP didn't make a difference whether he was on the field or not. Because he hasn't been good in years.

Ok with PP moving on, tired of his sideshow. SK needs to trade down and recoup a second or third round pick, which will allow us to take CB/RB/OL. While Hudson is a huge get, not having that third is a bummer combined with no fourth.

There losing Peterson and Kirkpatrick. They’ll probably replace Peterson with a first round CB and Kirkpatrick with a better veteran CB in free agency so not sure what everyone is freaking out about. The CB position will be a weakness but no worse than last year.

much worse than last year, we lost our #1 and #2 CBs.

don't forget that even when kirkpatrick was out for games last year it was noticeable

We pick at 16, so we'll probably end up reaching for a rookie as teams with draft capital trade ahead of us, since we don't have anything at the position to not broadcast our desperate need.

At this point, Kirkpatrick is as good of a CB as anyone left on the market.

No. Take the best prospect at a position of need at #16 or package the choice with our second and move up and grab a CB. (IMO)

Kirkpatrick was not good and he’ll be available very late into the off season just like last year. Whoever they sign in the coming days will almost certainly be better. A top 2 corner in this draft will have more to offer than an over the hill Patrick Peterson IMO also. Again CB will be a weakness but on paper no worse than last year. Of course if they don’t draft a corner early that will change things.

& the funny thing is, Tua only had 1 great game last season

guess who it was against?

us.

With their WR2 leaving at halftime while missing multiple positional coaches due to COVID

& guess who we were missing that game also due to COVID

This team has a ton of holes and minimal talent under the age of 25. We need the picks.

Edit:
We also need two starting CBs, so blowing our second rounder is a bad idea, since we probably need to reach for another rookie CB there too.

I’m hoping we can find a way to offer one of the vets 1/8. Whose everyone favorite left? Sherm, C Hayward, M Butler?

I think people just aren’t comfortable with a first round corner starting over a name but mostly washed Patrick Peterson and a veteran on the FA market who’s better than Dre Kirkpatrick because that is what they were used to last year but the cornerback play was bad last year so I welcome a 1st round CB and a veteran CB not named Kirkpatrick with what will hopefully be a decently improved front seven.
