Different kind of players. Carter is bigger and takes up more space. I can definitely see a situation where he's a double digit sack guy in the NFL.
Anderson is definitely my #1 though.

I don't see how anyone can. Can't manage to get the sacks in college but becomes a double-digit sack guy in the NFL? I mean, a small-school player or a player with no talent around him, maybe, but that's a big projection. He had massive talent all around him and still couldn't get the sacks.
I think Carter definitely could be. I'd rather just rather not flip the coin on a guy that's never played more than 400 snaps in a season and only played about 800 in college.
If you actually consider Carter's entire college career as a single season his stats are good. But if Anderson isn't there I'd rather trade back and get more picks. I love this CB class and we could get a couple of studs with a trade back and add more picks.
But I'll trust Monti on whatever he does until he's proven otherwise.

He had better numbers than Jordan Davis so it kinda depends on how you view him and how he translated to the NFL (one year, I know).

The college game has really moved away from large DTs. A ton of snaps. Spread the field. Get the ball out quick. Mobile QBs. Really tough to rack up stats.

This draft looks to fit our needs pretty well. A lot can change in FA and pre-draft but a nice pool of players to upgrade the defensive front, offensive line and CB position.
Steve Avila and O'Cyrus Torrence will be viable OG options in round 2.
Might have our pick of Cs if we see value there.
EDGE group is very solid.

And, as much as it may make most of you sick, taking another TE in the top three rounds should be a highly considered option. It is a great class and a tough position to fill with above average talent2.

Gannon saying his idea of wanting to live out of 11, 12, and 13 personnel supports the idea that we may add a TE in the top half of the draft.

He has some issues. They struggled to run the ball in several games. Jones was prone to false starts. He also, partly due to size, struggled to keep opponents from getting below his pad level.
It would be nice to have some offensive voices selecting the scheme.
There are a tonne of FA TE's available to fill a TE3 role.
He had knee issues last season. The Cards will have to be absolutely certain they are resolved. If not they’ll go Anderson or trade down.
