He’s my #2, but I ain’t gonna lie . . . scares the hell outta me that he didn’t get numbers.I don't see how anyone can. Can't manage to get the sacks in college but becomes a double-digit sack guy in the NFL? I mean, a small-school player or a player with no talent around him, maybe, but that's a big projection. He had massive talent all around him and still couldn't get the sacks.
He's a waist bender big time too.He has some issues. They struggled to run the ball in several games. Jones was prone to false starts. He also, partly due to size, struggled to keep opponents from getting below his pad level.
What I find intriguing when I run through mock drafts is that the Cardinals COULD walk away with FOUR good players. Even in the fourth round, high upside players were available. This draft looks to fit our needs pretty well. A lot can change in FA and pre-draft but a nice pool of players to upgrade the defensive front, offensive line and CB position.
Avila is a good one and could go higher than most mock drafts are showing. He moves really well.Steve Avila and O'Cyrus Torrence will be viable OG options in round 2.
What I fear is the Cardinals will have to pick between guard or center in round two.Might have our pick of Cs if we see value there.
It is, but I think the drop off from the top group is noticeable. Just like the difference between Anderson and the 2nd tier is big.EDGE group is very solid.
There are maybe a dozen guys who could play in the NFL in this years class, but I think there isn't a Sauce Gardner or Jaycee Horn. The depth is impressive, just no true elite guy.Same at CB.
Meh Brock Bowers comes out next year. And, as much as it may make most of you sick, taking another TE in the top three rounds should be a highly considered option. It is a great class and a tough position to fill with above average talent2.
I know it’s not the way to go but Anderdon and Gibbs would give us an impact player on each side of the ball.If we took Anderson in R1, and you prefer DT in R2, which one do prefer the most? I feel you would have to take 1 of these before R3 or they will be gone. So it is at #34 or trade back a few spots and then take one of them. Who you like if we went DT in R2 and why?
Ika - Baylor
Mazi Smith - Mich
Kancey - Pitt
Benton - Wisc
If we passed on DT in R2, who do we take and which position should we address most after taking Anderson at #3.
CB - Phillips, Utah
CB - Witherspoon, Ill
CB - Forbes, Miss St
CB - Banks, Maryland
CB - Blu Kelly, Stanford
RB - Gibbs, Ala
RB - Achane, Tex A&M
RB - Charbonnet, UCLA
OT - Jones, Ohio ST
OT - Bergeron, Syracuse
OT - Mauch, So Dakota St
IOL - Schmitz, C
IOL - Mauch, OG,C,OT
IOL - Wypler, OG
IOL - Ekiyor, OG
IOL - Avila, C
IOL - Patterson, C
I think Witherspoon & Gonzalez are better than Jaycee honestly. What I find intriguing when I run through mock drafts is that the Cardinals COULD walk away with FOUR good players. Even in the fourth round, high upside players were available.

Torrence might go late round one and I'd scoop him up in round 2 if available. I don't think the Cardinals have had a big strong good athlete at guard since I started watching the team.

Jaycee was fantastic this year. It remains to be seen if either will be that good. 62.4 QB Rating.I think Witherspoon & Gonzalez are better than Jaycee honestly.
Mayer, Musgrave, Washington, Kraft, Kincaid, and LaPorta are all really good players. rare depth. What I find intriguing when I run through mock drafts is that the Cardinals COULD walk away with FOUR good players. Even in the fourth round, high upside players were available.

There is really nothing to consider about the current depth chart other than you want to get off Ertz as quickly as possible and the jury is still out on McBride. If gannon is being honest about increasing the number of multi TE formations, than the increase is usage will create value on top of the value that comes with the talent and the positional scarcity.True, but I think based on the Cardinals current depth chart, I'd only want them to take a TE if one fell to later rounds.
I'd counter that the jury is out on all of these college players too. I think there are greater needs at positions of way more importance right now. There is really nothing to consider about the current depth chart other than you want to get off Ertz as quickly as possible and the journey is still out on McBride. Not to mention how two TE formations help QBs. Also, TEs are a hell of a lot cheaper than WRs. Having Musgrave/Kraft and McBride is so much cheaper than paying Kirk 17 mil to play in the slot. The trick is finding athletes at TE who can create explosive plays.
This is what I mean when I say that copying the Eagles formula is not the way, but copying the Chiefs is. Stacking your roster with TEs and "buy low" WRs is feasible with a QB on a large contract.
given Gannon's statement on 98.7 that the offense will live in 11, 12 and 13 personnel sure suggests they need another TE, and thats assuming Ertz is ready by the season opener.Mayer, Musgrave, Washington, Kraft, Kincaid, and LaPorta are all really good players. rare depth.

[EDIT] i see you post this very sentiment above. doh

That is probably likely but I wonder if the talent at some more premium positions could push OGs down.Torrence is certainly gone in round 1 and maybe Avila too.
