Been thinking, you can’t take Carter over Anderson. A premier edge rusher is the #1 commodity a defense can have.
Carter is good but counting on him to be an Aaron Donald, and that’s what he’d have to be to have the impact of an edge rusher, is asking a lot.

When you’re drafting in the top 3, premier players at premier positions need to be the priority. DT just isn’t that position.
That’s why guys like Warren Sapp and Donald weren’t top 5 picks.
Quennan Williams went 3 and he’s been good but he’s not the impact player Bosa has been.
They would have been top 5 picks if anyone had correctly predicted their impact.

I'm not opposed to trading down now that we have Monti and Gannon. It would have to a good haul, but I'm open to the idea.

Either you’re really high on those guys or didn’t see the talent that I did in mcbride by seasons end to rate him 5-8th amongst the group.

Sure we don’t know how he will grow, but he really grew in confidence and I was actually beginning to be impressed by his play towards the end of the season, even if it was only a glimpse. And I consider myself a relatively negatively-biased grader for cardinals players.
I am happy with McBride. It is just about prospect rankings. McBrides draft grade last year would put him as the 4th or 5th TE in this class. It isn’t a knock on McBride, it is a testament to the grades on these TE prospects this year.

Sure. I don't think Carter's impact will come close to theirs, though.
We’ll it’s hard to tag him as one of the greatest ever at this point. Nonetheless, every year the draft & FA contain impact pass rushers. The same can’t be said for inside defensive linemen. His talent is rare at that impact position

His talent is projected to be rare, and I question those projections. Anderson is far and away better than any other pass rusher in the draft.

Michael Vick had a church built in midst of not studying film, playbook....amongst other things.

This doesnt mean much. You can do good things and still have poor football character.
Why is it that you’re holding Todd McShay’s word as gospel?

When no other source has backed him up on that claim?

That was a really nice route. He put himself in a position to either continue across the field, in case his QB was scrambling to the right, or go back up field and adjust to the ball, toward the post (which he did)...With either option, he had the defender out of position.
