Well this could create some room this year to maybe re-sign some of our guys. Or maybe not. But I'd have to think it lowers his 1st year number.

So it'll shrink the first year cap hit then hit them for 20+ mil next year.

Yes, but next year the Cardinals have cap room for that salary. This signing would be HUGE for this season.

Not to mention the Cardinals lock up a good, and young pass rush for 5 years during the player's prime. That is no small feat in the NFL.

Hope it happens. He is a positive part of our future. Would like to see Palmer and Fitz extend a year to create more room this year.

Haven't heard any CC news so maybe he's seeing what the Chandler contract does to our cap. If we can retain CC then we have a great start into FA.

CC is as good as gone. The Cardinals reportedly offered him over $10M a year and he turned it down. He is going to cash in during FA. It's time to let him go.

i heard he turned down 10 mil a year.. not saying he should give a hometown discount, but how much more could he really get?

Nope. The time to Tag a player has already passed. The deadline was March 1st.
You beat me to it. Wonder how we can best use the cap savings? I love CC but given his up and down play over the past couple years I'm not sure BA will want to use up a ton of cap at the expense of retaining other players he wants. I think Jefferson would be the beneficiary. I can't see the Cards paying much more than the$10M they are reported to have offered CC when they have Nkemdiche waiting in the wings. At $12M per year you could upgrade your D big time with a Dont'a Hightower.

Hightower: 65 tackles 2.5 sacks
Minter: 85 tackles 3.5 sacks
