I thought cardinals got the short end of Jones end when it happened. Based on his production and this comments from rapoport about Bellichick's trading philosophy, i would say it worked out for both parties.

He should win the DPOY IMO

He was DOMINANT, not only attacking the passer but against the run this year.

Can't remember a better defensive single season performance from any Cardinal than the one Jones put together this season.

I would put Ty's 2015 season even though he got hurt.

Chandler Jones had 28 tackles for loss this season. No one else on the Cardinals had more than 10.
He also had 7 more then the #2 guy overall, 10 more then #3 and the 2x as many as #10. Also Chandler only had 3 games w/o a sack. Very consistent play all year. CC had a great year too but 4 of his 14 sacks came in game one and he only had 3.5 sacks the last half of the season. Are names being brought up for DPOY? If so who is getting the attention?

I remember years ago when the Cardinals were starting D'Anthony Batiste at LT agains the Patriots. It was the game that Kevin Kolb beat them in New England and it was their first home opener loss in over a decade. Chandler Jones was eating Batiste ALIVE. If you focused on every play, Jones was nearly getting by him on every play. He just has such a beautiful combination of power and speed. Guys like him have long careers because he doesn't rely on a quick first step to beat a LT. He should have another 5 years of really solid production. He'll probably get a bit slower, but by then he'll continue to enhance his pass rush repertoire and get a little stronger that it won't matter much that he isn't fast anymore.

Chandler Jones is the most complete player we have ever had on the defensive line in Arizona. He's got Rice's speed on the corner, matches Dockett's intensity in hand to hand stuff and can also bull rush someone like Eric Swann could.

Super, super talented athlete we are watching here.

In fact, if I had to pick "Most Talented Cardinal in 2018" today, I would pick Jones.

I would say Swann was. When he was healthy, he was the interior D Lineman I've ever seen. Dude ran as fast a 40 time as Rice and was 320 lbs of solid muscle. Usually 320 lb guys have bellies, but Swann had a six pack. He was so strong, I remember him using one arm to push back a Cowboys center while he pushed back Larry Allen with the other.

I remember Harry posting comments he heard from an Eagles player where it was admitted that they purposefully went for Swann's knees because he was so nasty that the only way to stop him was to take out his legs.

Outside of Swann, yeah he is the best D Lineman we've had. I wouldn't say he had Rice's speed, but he's close enough. What Jones does is he uses his bend and leverage to push back bigger linemen, and if he sees a corner he's quick enough to get around him. He's no Von Miller, straight up beating people with speed, but he has enough to get the job done.

I was at that game, a great day to be a cards fan, lil sweetness tried to fumble it away but they missed the FG to win the game. That game was so crazy my son could barely walk for about 15 minutes after it ended. Good times.

Another fun fact (for the New England game) when we flew in there were a couple of guys working security there were razing us as we arrived. But the next day (Saturday) we saw them as we were flying to NY wearing Yankees gear, they were really razing us then. When we flew back after a Yankee win they had nothing to say, but best of all when we flew out Monday wearing Cards gear again they just hung their heads and wouldn't even look at us. But no fear we made them recognize!!!

Swann in his limited career is still the biggest bad ass this team ever had in Arizona. Larry Allen is noted as possibly being the best guard of all time but he was also noted as the meanest too and cited Swann as one of the most difficult to block... and he once said that he made it a point not to try and piss Swann off because when Swann was disgruntle, you could not block him :)

I will say this about Jones, he is the best technician at the position we have ever had. Rice and especially Swann where physical freaks but a lot of what Jones does is play the position with amazing technique and a ton of moves and countermoves. This is great because a guy like that can be productive for years and I would not think twice re-signing him once his current deal comes to a close... thank you morons, I mean the New England Patriots living in the all forgiving shadow of Tom Brady :)
