Charlie Casserly just mentioned the possibity of the Cards getting Manning

Sando gives sound reasons why he thinks this is a longshot. Among them is the fact taht Kolb's roster bonus is also due at the same time and there wouldn't be enough time to both cut him and sign Manning. So in order to sign Payton, we would have already had to commit to Kolb for another year also. Seems unlikely to pay them both.

Well, the Cards shouldnt pick up Kolb's roster bonus regardless of what anyone else does. If doing so also gave them a shot at manning it would just be a bonus.

Archie Manning was on with Van Pelt today and he said the surgury was a success, all they are wating for is the nerves to recover, so he can start getting the strength in his neck back. I have had 2 of these surguries myself in the last 4 years and it wont take a year for him to get back to 100%, and no I dont have 300 pound tackles chasing me, but I have been married for 25 years...
