In trying to be objective, the only fact we know is that the Suns missed out on their first choice for permanent Head Coach, while Sarver and Jones/McDonough stumbled over each other. The blind leading the blind, as the saying goes.

I guess we'll never know the truth. Or at least not for a long, long time.

We don't even know that. I think he was our first choice and I think something happened in the last interview involving Bud and Sarver. But we don't KNOW that, at all.

What I also heard is that Bud wants the Milwaukee job and wants to coach Giannis. It could be Bud was going through the process.

Also in the Gambo interview there seemed to be the Igor connection to Doncic.

Like if the Suns want to draft him he is there man.

He talked about Gentry raving about Igor but it seemed to come back to Doncic.

It seems like Fizdale is the Suns top target now.

Nobody even knows about the last interview. I listened to what GAmbo said and he was vague and speculating. He did say that Bud has had his heart set on the Bucks job. There is no point in fretting about it any more than that.

When Gambo starts speculating instead of just reporting info, he is totally untrustworthy.

Igor might want to wait after the lottery to sign on.

Scott Bordow just retweeted this. I wonder if he is preparing fans for the Suns choice?

Maybe I'm reading too much into this.

Are the Suns starting to scrape bottom in their head coach search?

Nothing negative intended towards the candidates.

Here is the link to the above story. Hope the Suns are only being thorough but it does put me on edge a bit.

The Suns reportedly have conducted or will conduct interviews with several other candidates, including interim coach Jay Triano, former Memphis coach David Fizdale, Utah assistant Igor Koskoskov, former Charlotte coach Steve Clifford, former Orlando and Indiana coach Frank Vogel, former Houston coach Kevin McHale and San Antonio assistant James Borrego.

I thought the Suns were further along in the hiring process.

Well, you won't get the best available coach if you don't interview him! I have no problem with them interviewing a lot of candidates. I just want them to make the right final choice.

The only thing I'm a little worried about is they haven't interviewed Triano yet, based on that article. I don't want them to hire him but I don't see a coach being hired until Triano's interview has been conducted because the team has been straight forward saying he'll have a shot at the coaching job and will be interviewed. If they do sign someone before granting Jay an interview that would reflect poorly on the front office since they've said he will get an interview.

I thought it was confirmed last week that he interviewed on Thursday? Bud on Monday/Tuesday, Fizdale on Wednesday, Triano on Thursday.

Am I missing something?

Almost positive he interviewed last week and don't see anything in the article to contradict it.

The Suns keep expanding their search which concerns me about the response they are receiving from the top tier candidates.

This would be the smart hire out of the candidates left.

It's starting to look this way. I'm afraid other teams may be more aggressive in their search for a head coach.

After Bud withdrew his name it seems like the Suns did not have a number 2 or 3 candidate in mind. Worse yet, maybe they did and were put on hold or rejected.

Maybe they are just overcompensating since they only interviewed Watson last time. Really, that's what they should be doing...the exact opposite process of whatever led to hiring Watson.

I'd like to believe this but I think Bud was their top choice and he would have been the Suns hire.

So now the Suns keep looking.

Just hire Triano for one more year, tank again, and start this thing back up in 2019. Sarver is garbage.

Suns expected to finish up first round of interviews this week, they did speak with Jason Kidd and Vinny Delnegro, and then determine which candidates they will want to advance to the next stage

I actually don’t think Vinny is awful. He did a solid job raising the Clippers before Doc got there. But don’t know what happened to him since then.

Kidd is dog with fleas... that’s rolled around in his own feces.

That was the first thing to come to my mind too. I think they know who they want, but are really overcompensating because of the Watson fiasco.

Suns fans in the Valley of the Sun do not need another pre-planned tanking season. And, unfortunately, Triano has become a symbol of that now.

I attended one game early and not one since. And I turned off many Suns TV games because I found them too depressing to watch.

As a fan, I find any talk of continued tanking to do more harm than good to the fan base. And it lets Sarver off the hook when "success" is based on losing.

The Suns owe our community more than being laughingstock and losers.
