This is where I think the Cardinals will go if the draft plays out like I believe it will. One area I want to emphasize is where these guys win, and how they fit with the Cardinals.

1-Owa Odighizuwa - DE/OLB - UCLA
*Where he wins: Combo power/athleticism off the edge vs run and pass rush.
*How he fits: The ability to set the edge is a priority for Cardinals, but Owa has athleticism to run down QBs which makes a natural replacement for Shaughnessy.

2-Paul Dawson - ILB - TCU
*Where he wins: Dawson plays with great instinct and reaction which is why he looks faster on the field than he is when timed.
*How he fits: Dawson has the ability to play either ILB spot which means he can take over for Washington, or replace Weatherspoon next year. Able to play all three downs.

3-Alex Carter - CB - Stanford
*Where he wins: Long, physical corner who wins with agressive press skills.
*How he fits: Carter is agressive but needs some refinement. He is tall, nice arm length, and is experienced in man coverage. Nice depth with Powers and Bethel in contract years.

4-David Cobb - RB - Minnesota
*Where he wins: Decisive, powerfull runner who can gain yards without a hole.
*How he fits: Is a role player, but can handle a RB load, and plays with power. Fits very well in the red zone.

5-Ty Montgomery - WR/KR - Stanford
*Where he wins: With the ball in his hand, and in the open field.
*How he fits: He is dangerous as a returner, and offers more ability running misdirection and in the screen game.

6-Obum Owacham - OLB - Oregon St.
*Where he wins: With raw athleticism off the edge.
*How he fits: He has edge speed this roster lacks despite being very unrefined.

7a-Evan Spencer - WR - Ohio St.
*Where he wins: Unselfish, plus blocker.
*How he fits: Brings some similar skills as Fitz and Floyd, and can fill that blocking/slot role if/when either play leaves.

7b-Chris Harper - WR - California
*Where he wins: Speed in and out of breaks.
*How he fits: Offers another speed option at WR that we lack...insurance if Brown gets hurt.

I would be very happy if that was our draft... though I would not take three WRs, and would rather have a extra corner drafted :)

Like this, and if those players are available in Rounds 1 thru 4 or 5, I could see the Cards doing exactly this. The Cardinals like to claim they go BPA early in the draft, but they significantly slant their BPA for their needs. The Cardinals have truly gone BPA in the late rounds, which is why we ended up with Ellington and Stinson the last two years.

I like it overall.. don't think we have room for all of those WR's, so could see us targeting other positions in the 7th round unless they are very set on the roster and just need some camp fodder/potential practice squad players.

Good job. Not quite sold on Dawson. Between him and Perryman, I'd take Perryman I think.

They may go RB or CB in Rd. 2. Carter would be a good get there in 3.

I'd like to land Lockett there however. But I wouldn't complain.

I think "Diggy" would be a great pick at 24 and I would not be surprised if he goes earlier to the Steelers.

A lot of comments on the drafting of 3 WRs, so I will just do a blanket comment. I believe there is good WR talent in this draft which means there are better values later. I think it is more likley that we can stash WRs on our practice squad, and I'm not sure how many late round DL or OL can make our roster or are as good as these WRs are.

We might not pick up Floyd's option, Fitz is old, Brown is small, and Brown is unpolished. We need a returner.

I just don't see any other 7th round guys who are as talented as these WRs, and we may need them in the near future. Also, I think we can get away with 6 WRs on the roster, which would mean one ot the PS.

You're gonna regret posting your Final mock this early. Im holding off on mine till like 3 days prior. Youre gonna start getting the itch in like a week.

Owa nd 1 is a big reach. I know we may find ourselves in a situation where all our targets are gone, and we have to reach a little at #24 (or try to trade back), but if we must reach, Id prefer Eli Harold. I also don't know who was available when you chose Owa. Is Marcus Peters there? Take him 100%. Is Gurley there? Take him.

Dawson rnd 2. This guy oozes of 'problem'. When a guy says "Yeah, Im late a lot" as matter-of-factly as Paul Dawson, you know hes an easy pass. Despite his talent, I think hed ultimately help the Cards win more, by being on someone elses team, poisoning their lockeroom.

Picks I like:

Carter - (very) poor mans Richard Sherman. But real potential is there.
Obum - very raw, but ive always liked him. Hes a more athletic-Acho.

Nice draft Chopper, but I would trade up & take Anthony over Dawson all day & everyday...I still say he's very similar player to Los.

Eh, I wouldn't.
Dawson pretty much does everything better than Anthony & I feel like Anthony was just a product of his great DL.

Dawson, from what I've read, has good instincts but is slow, does not take on blocks and can't cover in the flats.
