Hmmm. RT @DConnollyNFL: Sources: #Cowboys #Raiders #AZCardinals #Jaguars #Patriots #Jets #Falcons showing interest in TEN RB Chris Johnson

Kent Somers ‏@kentsomers 47m
In response to some reports out there, #azcardinals have no interest in chris johnson or Jones-Drew. Carry on.

I trust Somers, but Wouldnt mind Chis Johnson and Ellington, Arians said they wanted an Ellington type back to pair with Ellington, since he will be a big part of the offense, but I doubt CJ is in the plans

he would have to be very cheap so he will go elsewhere. I dont see us paying him good money to back up ellington or featuring him over ellington.

CJ2k is good but he showed lack of drive at times and when he stopped having an elite OL his numbers dwindled.

Why would I want CJ? He's old and warn down and we have essentially the same type of player on the roster already.

I'd take Ellington over Chris Johnson as it stands.

So, I hope Somers is right.

Got some players who are all speed, thinking they are worth a lot more than they are.

Chris Johnson is a supplemental back, his days of being "the man" ended the instant he got paid big money.

Then there is DeSean Jackson in Philly who thinks a receiver that still cannot run a route tree, won't go over the middle, and has a lousy attitude deserves top dollar.

Both players are way off base, IMO.

Me first, high mileage running back who is all about the stats and has lost a step.

No thanks!

I would love to have chris johnson Ellington wouldn't he able to hold up for the whole year, and chris johnson could open up a lot of things. I hope it's true.

Well said RugbyMuffin , I would prefer we look at a Dri Archer in the draft .

I would rather have ellington split carries, then trying to carry the whole load the whole season. He might not be brittle, but it takes a toll especially on smaller RB.

Chances are that the source saying all those teams are interested is his agent. Chances are also good that not all of those teams are actually interested. It's just an agent trying to create a market when one might not even be there.

I'd take CJ in a minute. He still runs for 1000+ every year and catches 40-50 balls. His production hasn't been bad the last 2 years and his numbers are down because no threat of a passing game. I don't think that'd be the case in Arizona. He's who we hope Ellington turns into.

If Ellington gets dinged, are you confident with a backfield of Dwyer and Taylor? That may be slowest backfield in NFL history.

It wouldn't even be the slowest in Cardinals history.

I believe the duo of "Flash, and Dash", that would be Marcel Shipp, and Emmitt Smith was the slowest in Cardinals history.

NFL history? I would go look at some Miami Dolphins backfields before I make any claims.....yeah, I just bashed the Dolphins, and I enjoyed it.

And I am just having fun, your point is still more than valid. Dwyer and Taylor would be pretty slow, but we always have Ryan Williams. He is so fast, you don't even see him on the field.
