Walsh was interviewed on KDUS this morning. Turns out that the 11-year veteran WR and special-teamer lives in the Valley, has maintained his regular workout regimen, feels that he'd be ready to play immediately for any team that signed him, and would "love to play for the Cardinals."

Why Chris Walsh? He started 3 games last season in Minnesota (14-172, 12.3 ypc, 1TD) and has been a useful backup his entire career. More important, he was a special-teams captain for nine seasons with the Vikings, and holds their career ST tackles record. Here's the scoop on Walsh from NFL.com:

Wanna light a fire under some of the Cardinals' wideouts? Bring Walsh in for a workout sometime next week. He's a proven, veteran #4 or #5 WR, and he's been a special-teams standout. The Cards could do worse.

Any thoughts?

Last update I could find:

Vikings | Walsh To Restructure? - from www.KFFL.com

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports the Minnesota Vikings might ask veteran WR Chris Walsh to accept a contract including a reduction in salary if he ends up on the injured reserve list.

I don't think any of our WR's need "a fire lit under them". (Except for maybe McAddley...not sure what's going on with him).

Johnson, to me, just showed how much he still has to learn.
Boldin is fine...even though he is a rookie, he's still way, way ahead of the normal curve.

The others: Gilmore, Kasper, and Foster....just need to get healthy.
I have seen no lack of effort from this group at all.

...that was some hit.......was that the same game that we had a (relatively) big lead, then Brad Johnson led them to a comeback W at the buzzer? That game was sickening.

Isn't Tommy Bennett doing time for some drug bust?

2 hits - got his clock cleaned on the exact same play twice in the same game

That's right Joel...

..I had forgotten...Bennett flowing to his left in an effort to help out on the Tackle and Walsh nailing him from the side...what's that thing about "Fool me twice..."?

Clearly Walsh could help our special teams (if he's still in Football shape)...he was also a decent receiver w/Vikings..hard to believe he is an 11 year vet...I'm getting old...

The summer before last a friend got me a tee time at Forest Highlands in June. I was paired with two other guys, and they introduce themselves as Chris and Rob. I was talking with Rob for a while, and found out he's a real estate guy. I ask Chris what he does, and he says he's a football player. I ask his last name, and he says Walsh. Embarassed, I tell him I don't recognize the name. He says he's the 4th receiver for the Vikings (and playing behind Moss, it was obvious why I didn't remember him). He was a nice guy, and pretty good golfer, kind of short though. Talking to some Vikings fans afterwards, I guess he's a pretty good special teams player, too.
