But yes, this year his GB/FB became unmanageably extreme, but from my understanding Gibson has tweaked his swing and from the numbers it seems he's made corrections.

He still needs to cut his stroke in half. He needs to imitate Parra. Young is still strong enough to hit balls into the gap with a shorter stroke. He doesn't need to hit 30 HRs a year. Get on base 38 percent of the time with that speed and he'll become a one-man destruction crew.

You're such a HATER!!

:sarcasm:

BTW - he did put up some "hills" in AAA!
Then perhaps he should be in . . . never mind. 'Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I don't hate Chris Young. I had high hopes for him.

I (I save the word hate for extreme situations) resent, as a fan, that management has been so lax in helping Young overcoming his bad habits. Or, if he's been too stubborn, then my resentment is towards him.

He's still popping up way too often. Just as Eric Byrnes before he was banished to the land of DNP.

Another stellar performance by Young today. 0-4 with 3 K's dropping his average to .201. Soon he'll be back below the Mendoza Line.

Black Jesus to me while watching the game, "its like he's guessing"

Mark Grace .5 seconds later, "it's like Chris Young is guessing out there right now..."

So is Connor Jackson ever going to play this year? If not I hope we don't throw him at 1st next year and send CBY down to the minors where he belongs. Maybe we can call up that CWS 1B prospect we acquired and keep CoJack in the OF. Young drives me nuts.

There was a discussion in the Republic on CJ this morning. They are looking to getting him into the AZFL, or into Latin Winter ball.

He apparently cannot do more than a few minutes of cardio without getting winded

For those of you who don't know, Valley Fever can be one, mean SOB. The vast majority of people who have had it, don't even know they've had it, but there ar a select few that take a very long time to heal, and CJ is obviously one of them. He is presenting exactly as one would expect for someone who has/in recovery the disease. I suspect that he'll be back with a vengence next year. There's more than one player I would get rid of before I let CJ go.

It's a fungus. In the lungs. That can't be killed. Not much else need be said. Get well and take your time, CJ.

Correct-o-mundo. His chest X-Rays will never look the same.

I truly believe he will be back next year, but he still has a lot of rehabilitating to do to make that happen. C'mon, CJ!!!

I love how CY plays centerfield. He has the second half of this year to turn his batting around. Otherwise next year the outfield will look like.......

you love how he lets the ball travel to beyond his shoulder line and catches the ball like he is all that? He pisses me off in center. He has decent speed that is it. He makes lots of bonehead plays out there.

You ever watched Andruw Jones in his younger days play CF?

I can't stand watching Young's at bats right now. He seems to have no game plan up there and seems to predetermine if he is going to swing or not before the pitcher throws the ball.

This could have been written at any point this season... not sure why you decided to break down and post this today??

we should send Chris Young to AA or single A for the rest of his career. He is a sunk cost at this point and cutting him would allow him to sit on those millions... Give this guy the years of bus rides he deserves.

Some of us reach our complete point of frustration at different points then other. Today was mine (or one of them).

O for 4 tonight in a game when the D-backs put up 6 runs and 13 hits! 6 more men left on base. He's now batting .160 with RISP - .195 overall!!
Young and Whitesell could have been bigtime goats when in the 7th Roberts led off with a double and neither man was able to budge him...

I think if they're gonna continue to play Young, bat him 9th!!

I am as frustrated with the organization at this point as I am with Young. Why in the world won't they send him down? He looks TERRIBLE at the plate. Let him go down and gain some confidence (although I honestly don't think he will even hit well down there to be honest). There is I know we don't have a whole lot of other outfielders in the minors ready to contribute, but that's not the point. This is a lost season and a message needs be sent to Young that if he something isn't fixed then he is not going to be a part of this team.

(Aside from all this I am upset that he was given such a big deal in the first place following a season in which he his a measly .237 . I don't care that he had 32 hr's. I know many thought he was a promising young player, but the kid has never shown he can hit for average.)

Yup... there were some here comparing him first to Willie Mays and then Mike Cameron... Unless there are guys named Willie Mays and Mike Cameron currently playing in A-ball, I can't help but bust a gut! :D

Lastings Milledge might be worse. Higher average, but the dumb name cancels that out to me anyway. :)

I'm going to say I still believe in Young. Mostly because I want to be different and also because I was arguing against 82Cards more than anyone last season and I'm too stubborn to drop the topic. :p I do believe they definitely need to send him down for the rest of the season and then give him one more chance. Otherwise, I'm more than okay with Parra taking his spot.

Been waiting for you to reappear!! LMAO!!

Hinch was brilliant tonight... well, almost... He would've been brilliant had he not started Young at all, BUT, he did sit his ass in the 8th with runners on 1st and 2nd, and Romero comes thru!!!
Awesome!!
