I heard during the interview, they asked Green to use "harassment" in a sentence...

He said, "You know that secretary who brought the charges against me in Minnesota? After I slept with her, her_ass_meant nothing to me after that." :D

Funny, I've heard that Haslett (NO) would leave for the Buffalo job if Tom Benson will let him out. His wife is from NY.

yes - but if not then defintely Fassel. How many times did Green make it the playoffs with how many different QBs? The guy's a great football mind - yes he has some baggage - but he's also been incredibly humbled due to the lack of interest in him the last couple years and I think he's out for redemption.

If they get Green - the sting from this weekend's loss will abate for me immediately. Fassel would abate the sting as well.

Green was my number one choice unitl I read that post from a Viking fan and some of the media quotes. That sort of scares me. If there is any doubt what so ever error on the side of caution when picking a head coach.

But here's the big question. Do we want Dennis Green?

BC:

You bet. I'm amazed that Dennis Green is willing--let alone eager--to come to this, the graveyard of NFL head coaches. (Let's remember, no Cardinals head coach since Don Coryell has landed a subsequent HC job in the pros.)

I'd still prefer Tom Coughlin, but the Cards never had a chance at him, and Green would be a nice consolation prize. Sign the man before he comes to his senses.

Open your eyes Cheesy, we already found our possible QB of the future.

Im starting to think we should avoid Green like the plague. Sounds too much like Buddy only with more sexual harrassments.

Now that Washington and Oakland are hunting for HC's, I am wondering if the Cardinals may have to settle for a second level coach. I mean, there are more jobs than there are top level candidates IMO. The Giant and Falcon jobs are more attractive to potential coaches than Arizona, and Washington and Oakland are too. We are all talking about Green and Fassell, but we may end up with Wade Phillips or Jim Mora, JR.

Didn't Buges get a gig as Raiders Head Coach after he was fired?

If you look at the Cards coach tour this week, they got Green first, then Johnson, then Romeo, and then finally Jim. It looks like they want to see what Green is about, then look at the coordinators, and then close with Jim. I have a feeling that Jim was contacted weeks ago (I'm purely guessing) and the Cardinals just want to see what else is out there before they give Jim the job. I think that's why he's last on the list. Again, I'm purely speculating. If they aren't impressed with the other three choices, I bet Jim will have the job by Monday.

I would venture to say, that's a pretty good guess.

WHY ARE THEY EVEN INTERVIEWING FASSELL. THEY ALREADY KNOW HIM VERY WELL. JUST WASTED TIME THAT COULD MAKE US LOSE OUT.

Is there anyone in Dallas they would want to interview? I can't figure out why they are both (Graves and Michael) going there before coming back to Phx to interview Fassel.

In spite of the fact that it was announced that Fassel would not be back next year in N.Y., He was still under contract until the season ended.

I think also, that if you look back to 1994 when they tried to get Norv Turner (Turner had been Jimmy Johnson's OC in Dallas, but Johnson and Jerry Jones had decided to part company after the '93 season), they brough Turner in right away, but he ended up later going to Washington and taking the offer there. The Cards then "settled" for Buddy.

I would guess that remains clearly in Sr.'s mind. I don't think there was much question that Turner was whom "they" wanted but, like last year's free agency, getting a guy in first certainly does not guarantee he will sign.

I think its a slam dunk that Fassel is right at the top of more than one "want list" right now. The Cards would appear to have the inside edge, (somewhat surprisingly). But I know, if I were him, no matter what, I'd do some "shopping" myself to see who's going to offer me "just what" before I make my final decision.

I like the way things are shaking out "SO FAR".

I must say I'm also pleasantly surprised to see that the Cards job DOES seem to be one some of the top prospects are considering.
I think that is a credit to the positive things that Mac and Graves HAVE been able to accomplish so far.

I think some of the candidates see this as a team with some real "possibilities".

Tango, I totally agree. I'm happy to see that their choices for HC are actually experienced people, and they seem to have some sort of a plan.

Can't interview anyone from Dallas because they have a game this week. Mo Carthon is the only one on Dallas staff who I have heard mentioned as a possible HC.

Jeez, you're right. I forgot all about Joe Bugel's 4-12, single-season stint in 1997 with Oakland. Not an outright hire, though; Bugel had been assistant HC for the offense for two years under Mike White, and got the top job in part due to player support after White was fired. (Interestingly, he beat out Eagles OC Jon Gruden, who appeared to be the leading outside candidate.)

Didn't take Al Davis long to correct that mistake.

Possibly Maurice Carthon.....I've heard Parcells is very high on his coaching abilities.
