New head coach Ken Whisenhunt had the finances to hire a good staff. Having Russ Grimm coaching the offensive line and Clancy Pendergast on defense is a good way to start. The team is getting closer. Matt Leinart has Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Bryant Johnston to work the passing offense. The offensive line came together late in the 2006 season when Nick Leckey took over at center and Reggie Wells moved to right tackle. That should open more holes for halfback Edgerrin James. Grimm is a master of making good offensive line. The Cardinals expect to lose left tackle Leonard Davis to San Francisco or Dallas, so they will be in the market for the left tackle. They will probably make a run at Bears defensive tackle Ian Scott to help their interior defensive line. They could also look for a strongside linebacker. Other than Davis, they shouldn't lose many of their 14 unrestricted free agents. Whisenhunt also benefits from having the NFC's easiest schedule.

We should never let LD walk without compensation. NEVER!

If he wants to go back to Texas, fine. PAY UP.

Big to Dallas or SF? Ian Scott?

Sometimes you really have to wonder about these reporters. Where does Clayton come up with S.F.? They paid big bucks two years ago for Jonas Jennings and now they are going to break the bank for LD?

I don't buy it for a second. Dallas maybe, but not S.F.

Instead of just letting Davis walk away for nothing. How about slapping him with the franchise tag and give him the right to negotiate a contract with another team during the free agent process. If Dallas wants him they can sign him and the Cardinals can be flexible on the compensation (e.g.-dropping from two number ones to say their 3rd round pick). Davis would be better than any LT the Cowboys could select in the third round this year. This would allow the Cardinals to get something for their investment in Davis.

Rams X 2 - Easy?
Seahawks X 2 - Easy?
49ers X 2 - Easy?
Falcons - Easy?
Panthers - Easy?
Steelers - Easy ?
Lions - Well Maybe
Browns - Okay... Easy
Bucs - Easy?
Redskins - Easy?
Bengals - Easy?
Saints - Easy?
Ravens - Easy?

Always a way to make it seem that even if we do win...it's not because we deserved it...face it, it will take a long time to get some credibility in this league...but I think we are taking the right steps now that DG is back to Chili Dog contests versus wasting our time pretending to COACH for the last 3 years

I don't know about that.

I suppose it makes sense --

they play in the "easiest" division, play a 4th place conference schedule and of the AFC divisions, I guess the North is the easiest (truly a relative measue)

Of course it makes sense. We're going to have such a talented, well coached team that every game we play will be "easy". :koolaid:

They could also look for a strongside linebacker.

Doesn't Dansby play strongside LB? He must mean weakside LB.

Losing Davis without compensation is stupid and would go far to prove that our front office is inept.

you never know how easy the schedule was until the playoffs start. I guarentee many people had the week their team played new orleans marked off as a win this past year

Leonard Davis rumors?

My friend told me that he heard that Davis was either going to the Cowboys or the 49'ers.

Has anyone heard that rumor? If so, from where?
