which one of them have hurt you the worst? Cards Super Bowl? Cubs Bartman debacle?

Cards SB for sure. Mainly because my love for the Cards and football is on a higher level. But at least they were in the SB, so there is comfort with that. Clippers game 6 hurt more than Bartman too. In hindsight, the Bartman debacle is a classic Cubs moment.

true. Bartman... that was such an iconic sports moment. I remember watching that and seeing Alou's reaction and IMMEDIATELY knowing they were going to lose that game and the series... and so did seemingly everyone else in the world.

No kidding. You couldn't write a script that would be better than that. Even his name... Bartman... is pefect. To me it conjers up an image of Bart Simpson as a super hero screwing up the moment and all the world yelling "DOH"!

there was ONE moment where I thought the Cubs could reverse the Bartman curse... happened early in Game 7. Wood had a bit of a rocky start, gave up 2 early runs, but the Cubs got back within 2-1 and then Wood of all people smashed a 2 run homer to give them back the lead. Starting thinking this might just be the greatest sports story ever... the cursed team seemingly cursed again, fighting against God to break it... then he came out in the next inning and got shelled.

Oh yeah, it was immediate doom. I have been trained very effectively to expect the worst. That's why I was SHOCKED there was no pass interference called on the Cards on that final play against Philly in the NFC championship game. Not that I thought it was a penalty, but it was close enough to assume the ever present dagger to the heart was coming. What a thrill to win that game, but it turns out we only had to wait two more weeks for that dagger to finally arrive.

yeah, that was God playing the ULTIMATE role of Lucy swiping away the football from our Charlie Brown'd Cards.
