Charlotte QB Kevin Olsen, brother of Greg Olsen, indicted on rape charges
Kevin Olsen remains suspended indefinitely from Charlotte football
Charlotte quarterback Kevin Olsen was indicted on three counts of rape, and other charges, by a grand jury in Mecklenburg County on Monday.

The charges come from a February incident and arrest involving a woman he was dating, and the indictments include three counts of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree sexual offense and two counts of assault on a female.

According to the Charlotte Observer, each of Olsen's rape charges carries a possible 10-year sentence, though he remains free on bond, enrolled at Charlotte and suspended indefinitely from all football-related activities.

Western Kentucky redshirt sophomore RB D'Andre Ferby (shoulder) expects to be ready to go for 2017 season and enters the summer as the No. 1 back.

Ferby logged a single carry last season before missing the rest of the year upon suffering a broken collarbone. As a freshman in 2015, he ran for 650 yards and 11 touchdowns. A 6-foot-1, 225-pound between-the-tackles bruiser, Ferby has slashed 20 pounds from his peak of 245 to improve his quickness. "Now that he’s shed down a couple of pounds and got rocked up, he’s still got that old power we all know from 2015 where he was running fools over," QB Mike White said. "But he’s also got the quickness too." Now that Anthony "Ace" Wales is gone, Ferby is the projected starter.

Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment from four-star 2018 WR Darryle Simmons.

"The coaches haven't told me I would start but I will have a chance to compete for a spot on," Simmons said, adding that "t's a big opportunity that I won't let go to waste." The 6-foot-2, 197-pounder ranks as Rivals' No. 194 overall prospect for the 2018 cycle. Outlet analyst Adam Friedman writes that Simmons "has a huge catch radius and is an effective receiver over the middle and down the field" and believes that "his ability to consistently get open and create separation will add a new facet to the Hokies offense."

Kentucky redshirt freshman QB Gunnar Hoak completed 16-of-24 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns in the spring game.

Per ESPN's Edward Aschoff, Hoak was the Wildcats' most improved player this spring. Hoak has come out of nowhere to position himself prominently in this summer's quarterback derby. Until this spring, Hoak was an afterthought on the depth chart behind starter Stephen Johnson and former starter Drew Barker, who's rehabbing. But Johnson struggled mightily this spring and Barker still isn't 100-percent, which, given his spring success

Vanderbilt reached agreement on a three-year contract extension for HC Derek Mason.

While Vandy AD David Williams declined to offer specifics in terms of money, here, Mason will be receiving a raise as part of the extension. The team's assistants and recruiting budget are additionally seeing monetary bumps as well. Said Williams, "This year will be the first year that we actually have the type of depth that we would like to have, and I think Derek is a master at developing players." The Commodores finished the 2016 regular season holding a 6-6 record. They were subsequently defeated in the Independence Bowl by NC State. Mason has improved his record in each of his three seasons at Vanderbilt.

Florida WR Antonio Callaway cited for marijuana possession
Florida's Antonio Callaway, one of the top wide receivers in college football, has been cited for misdemeanor marijuana possession, according to Alachua County court records.

Gainesville police smelled marijuana upon stopping Callaway and Kendrick Williams for a seatbelt violation on Saturday morning, and discovered seven grams of marijuana in Callaway's pants, per a police report cited by the Tampa Bay Times. Another 5.4 grams were found in the car, according to the report. Both men claimed ownership of the marijuana, per the report.

Callaway is scheduled for an arraignment on June 6.
