Not too late to be sellers and rebuild the farm system.

There’s a TON to be said for that... In all seriousness, what are the chances AJ and Corbin are on this team next year?
It would totally suck. But I can get on board with a total dump that would expedite the rebuild.
But I highly doubt ownership and Hazen would sign up for it.

At this point the division is likely gone and the Dodgers will probably win 80% of their remaining games. We could realistically finish 3rd-4th in the division with how streaky we are. We are a mediocre team who has overachieved and the biggest gut punch is we have no farm system to be excited about .

Diamondbacks' A.J. Pollock: Goes 5-for-5 against Rockies
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Pollock went 5-for-5 with a double, three runs, an RBI and a stolen base in the Diamondbacks' 11-10 win over the Rockies on Friday.

It was a mammoth day for the 30-year-old outfielder, who got his 10th steal of the year in addition to the five-hit effort that brought his average up to .304 on the season. Pollock has had trouble staying on the field the past couple seasons, but he's a dynamic cross-category asset when healthy, as he's demonstrated with his fantastic .955 OPS and 12 homers through 191 at-bats.

Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Gives up five in no-decision
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Ray didn't factor into the decision against the Rockies on Friday, giving up five earned runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings, striking out two and walking one in Arizona's eventual 11-10 defeat.

Ray was touched up by two homers from Nolan Arenado and wound up conceding five earned before exiting the contest after five innings and 93 pitches. It's been an erratic season on the whole for the 26-year-old right-hander coming off his fantastic 2017 campaign, as Ray now has a 5.37 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP in his 11 starts.

AJ, 5 hits!
Peralta 4 hits!
Marte, 3 hits, 4 RBIs!

Didn't need him but Goldy looked like May Goldy, waiving at breaking balls a foot out of the zone.

This loss was on one guy.

When your starters never make it past the 5th inning saying they don't factor into the decision is a bit misleading.

Diamondbacks' Jake Lamb: Sits against southpaw
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Lamb will take a seat against the left-handed Kyle Freeland and the Rockies on Saturday.

Lamb has had quite severe platoon splits over the course of his career, posting a 47 wRC+ against lefties compared to a 117 wRC+ against righties. He'll likely continue to sit fairly frequently against southpaws going forward. Chris Owings gets the start at third base Saturday.

Diamondbacks' David Peralta: Hits bench Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Peralta is not starting Saturday against the Rockies.

Peralta had a four-hit performance Friday night but won't get the chance to build on it right away. Jon Jay gets the start in his place with lefty Kyle Freeland on the mound for the Rockies.

That being the case, we need a stronger righty hitting option at 3B than Owings. He's a good guy, but hardly a corner outfielder or infielder. Or 2B, for that matter. He is just too weak a hitter.

Speaking of Gonzo, I expected Bob Brenly back after the All Star game. I guess he's taking a longer vacation. 'Must have a nice contract. :)
