Greinke can’t break glass but his command today is amazing.

I got home just in time to see Greinke lose the no-hitter and shutout with a solo HR.

We still lead 3-1 here in the 6th. But we've lost the 3-game series vs. Colorado. One game out of three makes all the difference.

And the two light hitters, Ahmed and Mathis, come through. 6-1 D-backs.

It's the 8th inning and in these past two games, Goldy so far is 1-for-8 with 6 strikeouts. 1-8 with 6 strikeouts.

I hope he is not sinking back into whatever caused his hitting problems, starting with the last month of last season.

If it were any other player, one might think that motivation for the All Star game played a role in his resurgence. I would never expect that from Goldy.

But all that matters is when Goldy fades, why does he fade so badly?

He certainly is redefining how a player can be so hot & cold during a season...

I was ready to write Greinke off earlier this year. The guy barely breaks 90 but his control, prep and arsenal of garbage are amazing. When he’s on he’s in the head of every player that comes to the plate.
