I agree. I think that BA convinced SK & MB that the window was still open, when it really wasn’t. We got old & slow overnight. We’re still paying for decisions made the last couple years of BASK. We need to stop putting bandaids (Suggs) over problems. Commit to the draft & younger players.
100% agree

But, the player analysis by our scout department does not allow for this team to get better through the draft.

How many drafted players are still with this team?

You cannot build anything when you have to fill the same holes every year.

Look no further for the most glaring, and embarrassing example that was made this year.

Kyler Murray is looking like a great prospect, but THEY JUST DRAFTED A QB LAST YEAR.

That cannot happen, it just cannot.

As the Cardinals continue to draft and re-draft the same positions, the team just gets older, the talent becomes less, and down the toilet the team goes.

It is time to bring in a new GM, and not one from in house.

Keim worked under Rod Graves and it is time to break that line clean off.

Get someone that will challenge the status quo in this organization, that will make the conservative, sound decisions.

Stop with this risk it all, I am smarter than everyone else mindset.

Keim and this current model had their chance.

Just like Ken Whisenhunt, they did great things but at some point it is time for a change and I am not sure how much more needs to be proven to say that this organization needs change.

Keim's desperation to try and keep his job should no longer be allowed to bury this organization.

I think Kyler Murray has all the tools to play in any system, so you have a good prospect for a QBOF, and plenty of cap room, draft capital, and trade bait.

Just need some competent player evaluators.

I would personally get a NFL head coach as well, but I know I am in the minority there.

But, waiting for Keim to build something is like waiting for my cat to produce gold nuggets in her litter box.

For as long as I’ve watched this team, and that’s a long time, the Scouting Department has been abysmal. For many decades it was pure unadulterated nepotism. Now it just seems to be just poor. Way too early to make bury KK. The offense is developing nicely & he made some nice adjustments that would have resulted in tds if not for 2 dropped passes. I was ok with the KK hire as long as we brought in a good DC. I wasn’t thrilled about VJ, but his HC experience, however poor it was, looked like it may help KK. Still too early to blame VJ, but his hire still scares me.

I love threads that stipulate how others should think and express themselves. They seem like they really encourage discussion, debate and differing viewpoints.

Just consider that your blind optimism is just as nauseating to me. :)

There have been posts emphasizing your opinion. It was time for one that emphasized mine. To be fair, my view of our defense is hardly optimistic.

I recall last season when anyone tried to bring up positives about Rosen and his play they got crucified and called out as wearing rose colored glasses.Isn't it funny how things happen .

At least the organization is trending up.

Denny Green was the last guy who I remember could evaluate talent.......except for the QB.

It reminds me of some apropos lyrics...

for finding me offensive"

I don't know whether it's hilarious or sad that fans have made the step up from "historically awful offense backed by a league average defense" to "merely one of the worst teams in the NFL" a respectable move forward worthy of praise.

People — people on this thread — thought that last year's team was a 5-11 group brought down by some combination of awful coaching and sub-average QB play. Today, we're an 0-2-1 team that has average QB play (with promise!) and average coaching and people are seemingly happy with a 3-13 record as long as more games are close?

This is the NFL. There are no moral victories. The Browns won 0 games in 2017 and were 7-8-1 a year later. Have some respect for your team.

I have serious doubts concerning KM living up to the #1 and the hype machine.

Really respect your Cardinal history and what you have seen as a Cardinal fan!

Do you think your tougher on Kyler Murray because of the hype or because of his actual play in his first 3 games as a pro?

My point is why the bitter anger? Did we not all watch what this team looked like last year? I have been watching this franchise since 1964. I've seen some really ugly Cardinal teams in those 55 years. IMO, none were as unwatchable as last year's version. We all KNEW this was not a playoff team. Right? We have played 3 games, and have been competitive in all 3. We have a gifted QBOF who can POTENTIALLY be great real soon. The D is holding us back, but Rome wasn't built overnight. Give it time, enjoy that we're light years better than last year, and there's no need for bitter anger. Just leave the room when the other team has the ball:cool:

You spout facts but I don't think I'm bitter at all. Maybe others are, but there are so many other things in life that bring me joy to be bitter over football. Extremely passionate (and sometimes a little salty) is more like it for me. Bottom line is I will still be there every Sunday give or take ready to rumble! That will never change no matter what.

A little of both. The hype machine raised expectations too high.KMs play has been very good at times and absolutely terrible at others.Great comeback versus the Lions but preceded by almost 3 quarters of trash play.Okay versus Ravens.Okay versus Panthers until completely sucked 4th quarter when the team needed him calm and cool. Not all his fault alone but being #1 pick poise and composure are expected. So far we have seen a good arm but 16 sacks and 3 interceptions after 3 games? Interceptions happen..but 16 sacks? What about the vaunted elusiveness and pocket awareness? So far the consistentcy isn`t there...it might take time but I hope to see it.Sure he`s a rookie but the expectations were raised.....?

Their backup looked better than our starter as well.

Get some pepto for this season, the battle in the offseason set the foundation for how this board is functioning right now.

You have one side of "no nothing about football idiots" watching to see how wrong they all really were, and to make matter worse, if those fans are not wrong then this team is battling Miami for the worst team in the league.

It is not a good situation.

Allen's WRs were open constantly, pass rush kept going to for outside and he had time to throw. Cards WRs couldn't get separation at times and Murray didn't have a lot of time either. The Cards D was bad(really bad) and made Kyle Allen look really good. Just watch, just like what has happened to TE Hockenson on the Lions, where he looked like a All Pro, he hasn't done a thing since. I believe Allen will be in the same boat.

It seems if you were a player that is just starting for the first time, you would love to have that first game be against the Cards! You will have a record breaking day!

Dude, we were down 1 in the 4th quarter. You can twist it any way you want, but that was a competitive game. Btw, their backup QB is significantly better right now than their former starter. And I'm not here to defend our pathetic defense. K1 gave us 3 leads in that game & we blew every one.
That's pretty much how I see it.

Bravo.

What's the path here? Win 3-4 games, call it a moral victory and keep Keim? I just don't get how people can be happy with practically more of the same.

Sure, we look slightly better, but we still look like a team without a real plan.

No. The path is to build around Murray.

He made the offense instantly better. He makes Fitz better, Kirk better, and DJ better. He makes players around him better. You can believe that Solar7.

The path is to keep him healthy, build a championship O line, and continue to upgrade the other skill positions.

And, of course, do something about the defense.

Then we start crushing teams.

You with me?
