but this game proved in a nutshell that looking at last season IS a valid starting point in prognosticating a game, particularly this early in the season.

seattle had a better track record. we had a poor one. last year we compounded mistakes week after week. i can't remember who made the statement last week that we'd learn from our mistakes last week and undoubtedly correct them this week, but again, he/she/it was proven wrong and i was correct, this team repeats mistakes.

that's now two games, two false starts for big. he's STILL averaging 1 false start per game. that's a pace for 16. that's MORE than last year. anyone want to keep saying that's NOT a problem? oh, and he TOTALLY WHIFFED on that sack. awful. cheese and i also saw him get man-handled by grant winstrom. MANHANDLED? MANHANDLED! by a dude who has to weigh 100lbs less than him. again, awful.

as bad the oline was (and is, and let's say it, they flat out SUCK), warner just killed the team this week. yeah you could say he was shell-shocked. but you could also say the dude holds the ball entirely too long, has the field awareness of a blindfolded peanut (how many of those sacks seemed to be obvious to you guys and gals? what about that pass when he threw it directly at the defender running RIGHT AT HIM???), and what the hell was that women's flag football wobbler he put up that couldn't reach 30 yards and got picked??? i mean, he FINALLY steps up to avoid the rush, has little pressure, has a wide open wr, and flutters it 10 yards short. what nfl qb can't get that ball there??? wow.

finally, and dispiritingly, skorp hit the nail on the head. wow does edge look slow. really slow. i was excited about signing him, but also admittedly a bit worried b/c i hadn't seen his explosiveness in a couple years at indy. i'm cool if he's just a chugger now, but with this oline that may not be enough.

did i say finally? i ain't done. our complete inability to stay discliplined is laughable. did i say we make the same mistakes week in and week out? did i say we were MORE LIKELY to NOT correct our mistakes from last week? i think i did. our d-ends and safeties were regularly outta position b/c they lack disclipline. shawn had a mediocre day, but when he did have success it was squarely b/c our ends collapsed instead of contained. if that's our scheme our scheme flat out sucks. if it's our lineman then they either aren't getting coached outta mistakes, or they just don't understand the mistakes they're committing enough to correct them. either way, someone on this team is flat out dumb. coaches or players, or more likely both.

i realize this is harsh. but man, unlike skorp, i don't see a team that is close. i see a team that was lucky not to get blown out. what's that, 7 fumbles in two games for warner? we were the bounce of the ball away from being totally blownout...

bring on the rams.

I am a big fan of Kurt Warner but with that said I have a very low tolerance for people that don't value the ball. Warner has been very fortunate that most his fumbles have been recovered by us, but the luck will run out.

I don't think that Edge looks slow...but he definitely is a patient runner. Extremely patient.

How difficult it is for a football player to tuck the football and take a fall???? This is ridiculous.

I just don't think some on here get that it's not losing that's bad, some seem to think that well we were probably going to lose so it dosen't matter how we lost, that's not that important.

This game threw out huge danger signals, maybe it was just an awful day but we almost let the 9ers come back on us the week before, everything is not OK.

Our line is just pathetic, Warner under pressure is a joke, and I've got news for him, he's going to face that all year thousand of times, Seattle just wrote everyone's playbook on defense for them, bring the house.

Yet every year he has been right.

I'm not writing off the season yet, but I haven't seen much that leads me to believe we will be the sleeper team with serious playoff aspirations that many including the front office and coaching staff predicted. Of course, the same could be said of the Seahawks, Dolphins, Panthers, and Eagles thus far only unlike us they have some track record of recent success. However, there is plenty of time left to work out the kinks.

One thing's for sure, we gotta win this weekend. Because if we tank then we're looking at 1-3 after a road game in Atlanta and I'm not sure this team is mentally strong enough to come back from that.

I guess, I am just not ready this season to give up on Edge, even behind this line. He has a nice track record also and I can see him getting in a groove and making this bad line look better. It has only been two games. One of them a win. I just don't see the doom and gloom after a game we never were expected to be in.....and it ended up we were in it.

I thought that about him yesterday as well. Notice the position of the ball as he's being sacked on this particular play.

It was doom and gloom for me because I really believed all we needed was a top caliber running back and improved special teams to really turn things around.

The Cards get James to run and Zauner to run Special Teams- couldn't ask for more and then the same old Cards show up yesterday.

But there's air conditioning and Woodford Reserve (thanks Derm) in the Club level Sunday so bring on the Rams....:koolaid:

We are one offensive line away from making the playoffs.

I truly believe this.

(Unfortunately, it also means that, if we can't fix the O-line, we'll be lucky to go 8 & 8).

Add safeties who can actually cover to the list and I agree with you, Jeff.

Although I am now worried that what seemed to be the best part of the defense, the pass rush, is now a thing of the past already (no shows from Okeafor and Berry in both games)...and if that's so, with the soft zone behind, we are in for some long Sunday afternoons.

Also...these players aren't being prepared to win...they were lucky to beat the 49ers who outcoached the Cardinals...and yesterday was an embarrassment, no matter what kind of a positive spin anyone tries to put on it.

Maybe the Bidwills should tell them that if they don't start playing like an NFL "team" they'll have to go back to using the locker room at Sun Devil and take the Bus to Glendale.

Or we should tell the Bidwills that they should spend "our" money on missing pieces or they should watch the game from the hot bleachers at SDS on their handheld t.v.

I saw nothing in the post that made it seem like you were reluctant or ashamed of saying "I told you so..." to anybody.

Because he isn't, he lives for this. Today is a day in paradise for him, when the Cards look bad, that's where Ouchie shines.....there are many others like him on this board.

I said the same thing last week D Dogg, he's looking for lanes that aren't developing where as in Indy he had the luxury of having room to show that explosiveness Ouchie referenced. Someone's gotta light a fire under this lines azz or the signing of Edge would have been all for nothing.

The Cards are 12-22 under Green and lost to the 49ers twice in 2004(1st pick in 2005 draft) and to the Texans(1st pick in 2006 draft) last year.

At least we used to beat the really crappy teams.

Yep.

Totally agree.

I didn't see a team that was "in it and had a chance to win at the end" I saw a team that was dangerously close to being blown out.

I said it a long time ago and I'll say it again, Denny Green is an inept moron whose assistants deserve credit for his past success.

There was too much wrong in yesterdays game to even post about it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is looking through some VERY thick rose colored glasses.

This team is in trouble. How come a Jack Del Rio or a Marvin Lewis never falls in our lap?

Another thing is that Green has whiffed on all his drafts. Other than his crony's son Fitz and lucking into Leinart there's nothing.

No starters from the 2006 draft. Latui and Pope can't beat out Monica Lewinsky and Adam Bergan.

One starter from the 2005 draft. Rolle, who should be a safety, gives too much cushion and tries to body slam everybody.

Dockett had done nothing since his rookie year except get personal foul penalties until yesterday when his agent called and told him he could be messing up a huge contract extension. Dansby is a malingerer,Step is a horrible Center who gets blown up every play. Eric Green is a thug. Elton Brown is barely better than practice squad material. Mitchell had a bum knee and may never play. Blackstock is small and slow. Antonio Smith is a career backup.

You have to wonder when most of the team's better starters are guys who had their basic training somewhere else.

Boldin,Warner,Berry,Wilson,Hayes,Okeafor,Huff,MBrown,Griffin,Clancy,Darling and even Leonard Davis who under Green has turned into a false start machine.

Green is nothing but another Buddy Ryan bringing in his old pals and former players from Minnesota for one last payday. Sorry Mr. B but you got your pocket picked again.

just kidding of course
