Found this guy on a walk around work. For scale, he's about as big a a man's palm. I think it is a rustic sphinx moth.

omg ... he's gorgeous! Mandarin Duck who mysteriously appeared in Central Park's Pond in October. He's now a media sensation, lol

As pretty as he is...
1) They are kept by private collectors - he is an escapee
2) There was one for years at Tempe Town Lake - disappeared when they drained the lake to install the new dam
3) So many have escaped in California that they are breeding there now
4) Closest relative is our own Wood Duck

There are photos of him and the wood duck hanging out at the pond - probably taunting all the ugly ducks, lol.

Consensus seems to be that he is an escapee.

Just learned that this shadow in the shape of a Cougar on Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction AZ appears only twice a year for about a week just as the sun is setting. Neato!!

I know a cougar or two have been spotted in Scottsdale pretty regularly.

Found this guy one day hanging on to my side view mirror (this was in Honolulu). Even driving full speed, he wouldn't let go, lol.

Now if those puppies were 6 ft tall we could never leave the house. What a lil monster.

As a retired Chef I have to ask...I mean just think of the money you could save on garnish alone, it's already a masterpiece.

Found this little guy on a recent hike. Mountain Springs trail. Located in the spring mountains, red rock canyon area in between Las Vegas and Parumph Nevada.
