I didn't like this guy going into the draft, he almost went undrafted, and has now been cut by the Bronco's.

But I know a lot of other people on the board liked him and thought he would go 2nd or 3rd round.

Who?

Joe,

Players with 4 or fewer accrued seasons go through the waiver wire.

1st round draft order is the order of which teams get dibs.

If teams claim him they take on his contract.

No, the name in my post - Jeremy Beal.

Just goes to show what listening to college coaches will get you especially the ones a. Bob Stoops was talking him up big time especially Beal's ability in pass coverage and that Beal being able to play OLB/DE was a major factor in their win over OSU. And JB did look good in that game.

Then he runs a slow 40 and apparently didn't have the NFL skills Stoops claimed and at 6'3" 275 didn't fit either DE or OLB.

Good stuff, Joe. I still think Brian Westbrook would be the right all-purpose RB fit. I like Tyrell Sutton (just released by Carolina) in some similar ways. Prescott Burgess---if he were a little faster would be a keeper on every roster. He would be a very nice addition. The pass rusher I am hoping for is Philip Hunt---(Eagles)---if he's the odd man out in their crowded OLB/DE unit. And keep an eye on S Brandon Meriweather (Patriots)---he could be had in a trade according to Boston beat writers.

I would take a look at Jalen Parmele as a potential RB from the Ravens.

Mitch,

Meriweather......your damn right, but what would we have to give up..draft pick or player?

George Selvie was cut by the Rams. He may some pass rush ability. I like Burgess. Brandon Ghee was a CB alot of people liked out of Wake and the Bengals let him go. Tavares Gooden, ILB from the Ravens is out there.

Selvie was also one of those guys everyone went crazy over as a 2nd/3rd round type pass rusher. Ended up not getting selected until the 7th round. Exact same scenario that played out with Beal this year.

He didn't show any pas rush ability his Junior year, or his senior year(9 sacks in final two years), and didn't with the Rams either.

As for Ghee he sounds interesting but he also missed all of training camp with a hamstring injury.

the Bengals are also CB poor aside from Leon Hall. If they cut him, he likely cant play

Regarding Meriweather: does Bill Belichek let good football players go?

Seems like a lot of former 3rd rounders from a few years ago are getting the boot.

Pats cut WR Brandon Tate

Carolina cuts DT Corey Irvin.

Always liked Dimitri Nance, just released by the Packers.

RB Chris Ogbannaya Texans (2nd year)

He is a big kid that has played well...I suspect they will try to sneak him back on their practice squad.

Olshansky would be a decent pick if we hadn't sign Eason and drafted Carter.

Chris Ogbannaya of the Texans is the guy I like after Westbrook as our number 3 back. He showed good hands out of the backfield, runs with a little wiggle, and picked up a pretty complex Texans offense quickly. He is worth a stab.

Tavares Gooden looks the part, but I am not sure about his ability to play inside.

I was on the Jeremy Beal bandwagon for our SILB position as it seemed that he didn't have great speed. I still think that he could work inside in a 3-4 where he has a more limited space to work in.

Brandon Ghee seemed like a guy you would take a shot on out of college, but I would rather have Joselio Hanson at this point.

Joselio Hanson is the perfect nickel back, and would be a great addition to our secondary.

Derek Landri is also a decent player, but probably a wash with what we have up front.

I would take a stab at Shilo Keo S that was cut by the Texans. Seems like a practice squad stache. Could be a good depth guy that would be a special teams contributor.

And there is Jeff Maehl. I always thought that he would stick in this league for a long time.
