I really hope ARZ takes a look at bringing in:

DE Jacob Ford
OLB Thaddeus Gibson
OLB/DE Everette Brown
OT Selvish Capers
RB Chester Taylor
CB Brandon Ghee

I doubt we have the roster spots to accomodate this kind of turnover, this isn't Madden, the players have to actually fit.

Ford is intriguing though, he might flourish as a 3-4 rush backer. Thaddeus Gibson has been looked at by a few 3-4 teams, with all passing on him. Brown has been a nonfactor as well.

Chester Taylor is only a name; the guy is terrible, we might as well talk about bringing back Marcel Shipp.

Everette Brown anyone? Just waived by Carolina.

Another over hyped pass rusher that everyone wanted and some that slammed the Cards for not taking bites the dust. A lot of them are getting the boot. What is funny is Brown was starting in preseason and they replace him with another busted pass rusher they picked up in the waiver wire, George Selvie formerly the Rams. What makes even a much bigger failure is that they traded a 1st round pick to trade up in the 2nd to go and get him.

Just took a look back at the first two rounds of the 2009 draft, the 3-4 type pass rushers everyone here were debating and wanted on this team.

Counted 12 total and only 3 have shown anything. 4 out of 12 have been outright cut, some cut twice. And the others have shown no hope of every doing anything. What a tough position to translate into the NFL, maybe the toughest next to QB.

That type of exaggeration will get confused with K-9... ;)

Washington cut the RB I like, Shaun Droughn. He has good size and was impressive when I saw him at UNC last year. They also cut former OSU DL Doug Worthington. I thought he could be a nice backup DE in a 3-4. He's not great but could be a good depth guy.

LOL I was exaggerating for effect. I'm still not happy with the signing though, but I think he was the choice based on his ability to do the little things that RBs are supposed to do (blocking and receiving).

I'd have rather signed a young guy that has some rushing ability.

I didn't mean too sign them all, but look at a pass rusher, CB & RB and make 3 cuts. In light of what happened today they got a CB, RB, now look at either Ford or Brown to bolster the pass rush. Brown IMO was a bad fit for CAR in the 4-3, needs to be a 3-4 OLB, both Ford & Brown may have the athleticism but will probably take awhile to learn the position.

KK I misunderstood.

I'd take Ford over Brown, IMO Ford has shown more in the league. And who would go in that scenario? Ronald Talley.

Ford is likely the most proven passrusher on the market, and he still has the potential to become a very good passrusher. Just look at what Jason Babin did last season.

Honestly, in the first round only, it might be more difficult to judge than QB. Most likely why teams like Pitt and NE stay away from conversion backers in the first round, just too risky.
