KW is more useful on this team than CJ. AE has better hands than CJ. I can't defend Penny besides that he's going to be used on Special Teams. When you bring absolutely nothing to the table except for the fact that you're an older running back your chances of making a talented team are limited. I imagine those two fumbles did not help.

Past protection, experience, leadership, and looked fine to me running the ball.

A moot point tho since he is gone.

Just a reminder, building a roster is different from Fantasy Football. ST's play a big part, along with contracts, age, etc.
While your right, slow unathletic back of the roster STs players usually don't help you win SB's either

I still say CJs lack of speed was complete BS & well as the fumble inside the 10 that wasn't, against ATL that might have got him cut. The guy was clearly down.

I don't like this move. AE sucks, Penny sucks and KW suck. SMH if true.

As others have stated, the fact that he doesnt play ST hurts him.

KW is probably a better pure runner at this point. AE is a more explosive subpackage player. Penny is the best special teamer.

Was watching.

Was Ellington and Penny better ? I certainly do not think so.

And when the Cardinals need a RB that can pass block they are going to bring in.........................................................................

I think it is a bad move by the Cardinals but who knows.

If they pick up a veteran then who cares.

Maybe Matt Forte is released and the Cardinals bring him in ?

David Johnson, duh.

DJ has to take breaks still, I dont think the other RBs cut it for when he does. Hoping for a big, sturdy veteran that can run between tackles and pass protect well.

Not sure who we would cut though...

Ellington is only good for passes, sweeps and draws, Kerwynn is only good for between tackles. Dont trust either one blocking.

If DJ misses a game, we will be in trouble.

No question but let's not act like anybody is going to be seeing significant time back there. In fact, CJ started to bitch about it last year because we were playing the wheels off DJ. I see no change this year.

If DJ misses any games we are screwed with or without CJ.

OK. Hopefully that works out.

I know DJ has been "working on it".

I mean I know it would be CRAZY! But, maybe there is a logical argument to the situation, I know, call me crazy.

CJ could spell for a game at least, I would be totally confident with him at that point. I dont like Ellington or KW getting many snaps, let alone a full game. There are some average, stout, proven RBs getting cut today and I hope we go get one.

And we would be in JUST as much trouble with the slow aging CJ on the field as well..

So he's not going to run pass routes? Except for safety valve routes? You're going to surrender half of DJs worth....imo.

I think when he goes on a pass route we usually have an empty backfield.

I do like DJ and AE being back there at the same time for some plays but I have been saying that for years and we never see many 2RB sets.

In reality does Dre really play STs?

He was so good at falling down & running OOBs on KR last year I'm pretty sure he's not even on the u it this season unless it's an injury.

Sure CJ probably has lost a step, but his lack of explosion in the preseason was vastly overrated IMO.

IMO if you compare every part of Dre & CJ game, it's not comparable in whom is the better RB even at his age. IMO made a mistake so let's hope it don't bite us in the ass this season.

Uhhh, I wouldn't be comfortable with CJ spelling us a game. Dude looked like trash back there, his time is up.

And to your point, we will likely sign somebody else off the waivers.

I would love to see where CJ was "bitching" about playing time.

Seriously, the guy is gone, no need to kick him while he walks out the door because you want people to agree with your opinion about the situation.

As much as KW or AE trouble will be? I disagree. Hes a better runner and better blocker IMO.

All good though, hoping for a different vet to come in.

I think your eyes are hoping you been seeing CJ from 2 years ago and you are being fooled... Or its afternoon of the happy stuff :)

I'm hoping so.

CJ never looked great at first, always needed 10 or so carries before he would explode. Either way, good luck to him and thanks for the other season when he played real well.

I wouldnt say bitching but that is why he looked elsewhere this year because he never touched the field. It was in print, I just dont have the link.
