Things are looking good for the Snakes, 6 games remaining against the woeful Giants, plus another 3 against the Pirates. Two series against LA and one against the Rockies are really the only things that slightly worry me, but if the Dbacks can go just a bit over .500 in those, they should win the division.

I will take that schedule.

This series did more than just give the D-Backs a good lead in the division, it all but crushed the Cards' hopes on winning their own division. One year you are the WS champs, the next year, you can't make the playoffs. Sucks.

Can't believe we are on the cusp of winning another division... Incredible. Go Snakes!

thought i was going to have a heart attack... the best part about our win... THE PADRES LOST!!! 3 games up now.

It sure looked liked a missed call on the Padres' hit batsman in the 9th.

He was leaning over the plate swinging. The pitch was in the strike zone.

How can that be called a hit batsman?

Melvin made the right decision to give the uninentional intentional walk to Puholz. And, even after Valverde gave up a walk to force home a run and make it a 1-run game, he kept his cool and won it.

Congratulations to Papá Grande, the Major League leader in saves. And the reason we have won so many one- and two-run games.

no way it should of been called a hit by pitch. It just felt like everything was going their way in the top of the ninth... no big though, had valverde blown the save, someone would of come through. never fails with this team.
