After listening to the press conference it seems they were both at fault. Washington removed himself from the situation and she followed him to his car, and then she got pushed down. For all we know she was hitting him etc. and he pushed away to defend himself and didn't realize his own strength. Im not saying he was right but it wasn't like he walked in and started slapping her for no reason (not that she deserved being pushed).

I find the most tragic element in the scenario is that they both seemed to put the poor infant in jeopardy. Lucky, apparently, the baby wasn't hurt badly.

Parents behaving badly to each other is one thing, putting their child literally in the middle is unconscionable IMO.

I hope that some sense comes out of this for DWash and his ex-girlfriend. They have a great responsibility to that child they brought into this world.

Sorry, I am off my soapbox now.

They're really going off on him on KTAR. And ripping on the fans because all they care about is when he's going to play. They seem to think Gooddell is going to drop the hammer on him, guilty or not.

(They said the police report shows she has a broken clavicle)

lol, well... duh. These are football fans, he's a football player, of course the football fans care more about football. Something tells me advocates for abused women don't care about the football aspect at all. It's all in the individual's priority. This news really sucks... I'm a huge DWash fan, but I am absolutely against abusing women. I hope there's some sort of logical explanation for this, but the chances seem to be diminishing by the hour

He won't. Goddell isn't supposed to factor in his substance abuse suspension. He'll get 1-2 games at max for this new one.

Well we know its at least 3 :mulli:

Because he was suspended four games, he was in Stage II of the NFL drug program. At that stage, they are tested 10 times a month and two failed tests gets the suspension. Or, one failed test and one failure to follow his treatment plan.

Plus, he failed a test to get put into stage I and to get moved from stage I to stage II. That's at least four tests he failed.

The strange thing to me is why it takes two failed tests to get punished in stage II, when there is zero tolerance to enter the program and move from stage I to stage II.

If she truly does have a broken clavicle as reported, he's screwed!!!:bang:
More games toward his suspension will happen, because you cant put your hands on a woman.

What a freaking mess...I hope DWash gets its turned around.

BTW, he is now in stage III, and it is possible that BEHAVIOR was included in his treatment plan. If so, he could be suspended without being found guilty in a court of law.

This.

As for the situation, the legal front will play itself out. Given the nature of the case, it's really worthless to comment on as these things are never much more clear than murky.

We had renter neighbors for a good 7-8 months that would yell & scream at each other relentlessly. Just strings of profanity, etc. They had 3 young children. One night a bunch of stuff from inside ended up outside and the police ended up knocking on our door. Police said that they were over there pretty frequently and it was typically him that would call on her.

After they moved out we spoke with the landlord and mentioned that walls, doors, etc were all busted up. Husband basically said better to hit the wall than hit his wife. Still you have your kids in you home - just not good stuff and eventually will turn bad. Which is a shame because the kids were young and fairly sweet in our interactions with them.

I may be old fashioned, but it would be best to simply not have children with someone until you know you are completely good together and plan a family. For the cash he makes, he could have saved a lot of his earnings, stress, freedoms and interactions with someone who clearly doesn't work well with him all for the cost of an econo-box of rubbers

The situation as a whole was preventable - however, once in that situation you need to be able to deal with the environment you created

I normally err on the side of caution in these situations. DV cases are extremely complicated and the man usually gets the short end of the stick. That being said, with the alleged victim having a broken collarbone, I would say things do not look good at all.

Standing # 2 -that would be an elite skillset- graded 97 out of 100- if I ever seen a name(even a short one like Ed) # 2ed in the snow I would think it was aliens! or Michael Jordan or Jerry Rice!

The really horrible thing is I understand this post.

Anyone here know anything about permanently erasing mental images?

Washington can still totally be in the wrong here but in the police report she said that she left the 5 month old baby just laying on her bed to go and chase him down for supposedly taking her cell phone. Who leaves there baby like that with no one to watch the kid all for a cell phone?

They both sound bat crap crazy.

Steve Keim is so good he anticipated Washington getting arrested and therefore chose to draft Minter in the 2nd round.

Honestly I could care less what this guy does. If he can play football, you don't cut him or get rid of him. He sits his suspension, loses his money and comes back to play. What he does off the field doesn't effect his on the field play and that is the only reason us fans pay our money and spend our time. Not what he does for the community or with his family. That's his own personal issue he can take care of.

I also heard that Arians was ahead of the curve and is bringing in Michael Pittman as ILB assistant coach.

By the time this case goes to court, the season may be over. There could also be an out of court settlement or a plea bargain to a lesser crime. Goodell won't do anything at this point. He will let it run its legal course.

For those of you who are busy writing out Daryl Washington's obituary, I want to give you all one name to remember while doing so:

Ben Roethlisberger.

Remember when Big Ben was going through his rape chargers? Who was his coordinator? Bruce Arians. Twice he was accused, and you can argue he got off on the second one due to a technicality. But each time, Bruce had his back. So much so that when Bruce was purged from the Steeler's coaching staff, Big Ben lobbied to the front office to get him back.

During these events, Big Ben was labeled a "screw up" and there were reports of him being traded or released. But since his suspension, Roethlisberger has not found himself in anytrouble since, is still the captain of the offense, and is still a productive QB. Today, Steeler fans have largely forgiven and forgotten about the events, and the front office and coaching staff (Bruce included) look smart for giving him that support.

What does this have to do with the price of tea in Arizona? Daryl Washington is drawing the ire of many fans. He just got busted for drugs and will have to serve a four-game suspension. He is wanted for questioning in a domestic violence case. His stock is pretty low at the moment. But much like Big Ben, I expect Bruce to support Washington through this matter with hopes that he matures and becomes the unquestioned leader of this defense. People make mistakes, sometimes numerous ones; especially those at Washington's age.

With that said, before we start jumping to conclusions about Washington being jettisoned from the team, or even being found guilty in this DV case, remember how our coach was one of the few who stood by the side of one of the league's most loathed individuals. By comparison, Washington's situation is rather benign. Let this thing pass, hope that he matures from this, and continue to marvel at his playmaking ability.

TJ-----you are like a breath of fresh air on a hot, muggy, morning after a desert thunderstorm the prior evening. While none of this is good, it is by far best to remain calm and let this play out in the legal system. We have already lost D-Wash for the first 4 games. We could lose him for more, or things might just stay as they are. All the criticizing and complaining does nothing to change the outcome.

According to the police report, the woman was acting aggressively when the collar bone was broken. She chased him to his car and repeatedly tried to enter the vehicle as he was leaving. The collar bone was broken as he tried to push her away from his car.

I initially thought he was guilty here, but when I read this police report, it looks like she was the aggressor from the beginning. She panicked because she couldn't get hold of him when he was on a parental visit. She then got aggressive with him when he comes back with the baby. He holds out his are to hold the woman off and protect the baby. Once the woman calms down, he give the baby to her.

She probably said something like "I have marks, I am going to call the cops and say you assaulted me!" So he follows her in and takes her cell phone (he should not have done that). And then goes to his car. She throws a potted plant at him as he leaves.

She chases him to his car (leaving the baby in the apartment alone) and tries to push and shove with him to get the phone back. She falls in the process and breaks her clavicle

Moral of the story. Sleeping around has consequences. Find a good woman, get married. Keep her happy. The key to a happy life.

I stand corrected the is Phoenix police department summary of the police report. I have not read the police report.

Can the dang Cardinals ever catch a break? Every year it is something. Only good thing now is that we were smart enough to draft Minter. Sad to lose such a good young player. So long Washington, thanks for playing.
