Q. The Cardinals have a lot of off-season decisions to make?
A. “Oh, yea, they got a lot of off-season decisions. But I’m the franchise player this year, so I think I’m the first one up, know what I’m saying? I’ve been the first one up the last two or three years, but they always overlook me. Now, they can’t overlook me. They got to deal with me. I’m fine with that.”

Q. You don’t want to be franchised again?
A. “No, not at all. I want the security, man. I want some foundation. I did my part, so if we win this game, I definitely did my part.”

Q. You want Calvin Pace money, you think that should be you now?
A. “Yea, you’re absolutely right. Calvin Pace for President, I’ve been saying that for last year now. If it’s between him and Obama, it’s going to be a tough decision for me. I’m just glad he took it to another level so I can take it up a little bit higher.”

I think he is directly repsonding to the recent quotes of Graves talking about players having to do their part as well if they want to be apart of a winning program.

If we dont offer him over 20 mill gauranteed he will test the free agent market and he will leave. And we will not offer him over 20 mill in gauranteed money, so he is gone without a doubt in my mind. Slap the Franchise tag on him and trade him. He will be a commodity and you need to get something for him like we should ahve done with another commodity in Davis and like the PAtriots will do with Cassel.

That makes Dansby and Boldin both gone next year IMO.

I do like how the reporter took him to task for flip flopping.

Boldin and Dansby both gone...welcome to 1999 and a return to the 5-11 days of yesteryear.

My take is anything that motivates Dansby to play his butt off on Sunday is good for us!

We'll deal with the aftermath later. Super Bowl teams always have contract problems and we'll be no different, but I'd sure rather worry about Dansby and Quan with a Super Bowl title, than worry about them WITHOUT.

I dunno... I think Karlos is feeling his oats right now... Pre-Super Bowl hormonal rush and all.
Teams that win Super Bowls are always faced with these types of decisions... that's why it's a minor miracle to see the run the Pats put together...
If we lose this game, I'm not so sure Karlos will "require" $20million guaranteed. He wants the stability... most of the time, stability comes at a bit of a price.
If we win, and he still won't settle for less than $20million, well - thanks Karlos for all you did...and good luck wherever you land...

I dont see it as the same though. Boldin will get something back in return in a trade so it isnt a lose for nothing, plus we have a capable guy to play the #2 already, Someone to replace Dansby not so much. Also we cut guys in 1999 and didnt replace them or didnt even try, that wont be the same in this case IMO. Would we find guys just as good, maybe maybe not but it wont be with UDFA's either.

I don't equate this to 1999 at all.

First of all I think we'll be able to nab some people in FA that for once in a blue moon will be WANTING TO COME HERE FIRST.

That's powerfull in itself and means we won't have a repeat of 1999 IMO but we could see our roster change, hopefully when you add it all up we'll still be gettting better.

If we win on sunday somehow I bet both will be back looking to get another ring here. but if we don't win I would rather resign Boldin than dansby, boldin means a lot when he is out on the field forcing teams not to double team fitz.

Food for thought. Many of the players enjoying this success is in part because of their play and a big part of the system and being put in a position to succeed,
Selfishly, I want all of them back. In reality, great teams lose players and plug someone into their spot. Look at the Patriots and the Steelers. Every year a player or three leave those teams and everybody thinks they are not as good as they were last year. Porter, Samuel, Ty Law to name a few of the top of my head. Yet they keep on winning.

A great system makes great players as well as vice versa.

Let's go win a Super Bowl and if certain players decide to leave, I have to believe there will be plenty of players out there that would LOVE to come play for the Super Bowl Champs. It isn't going to be like years past when we were trying to plug 6 different holes just to be competitive. The foundation is firmly in place and we are in a great position to build on it to enable us to become perrenial winners for a while.

Interesting that the Patriots went from 18th in TD passes allowed to 31st and from 2nd in Yards per attempt to 18th once Samuel left. But then why pay a guy $60 million dollars who gets his rear handed to him in the NFC Championship game by a guy many here felt wasn't even worth keeping in Arizona. :D

It's easy to say that, "no, it just can't be done." And more often than not, that holds true.

BUT NOT FOR THESE CARDINALS!!

Things have changed. Jr. Bidwill will get it done.

Both Boldin and Dansby will be back, imo. I'm especially confident of Dansby coming back.

Aren't you guys like 45 million under the cap? You shouldn't have any problem re-signing Boldin and Dansby.

A Jamir Miller clone wasn't he????

Don't forget Miller turned down a multi-year deal from us to take the 1yr deal w/ the Browns in hopes of getting an even bigger deal the next year. There wasn't much interest in him due to his off field issues.

Also for all you, "Mr B. broke up the next dynasty in 1999", folks out there, the Browns gave Lomas Brown a 3yr deal making him the highest paid lineman in the NFL. As an expansion team, they had the money to overspend for a 35 year old lineman. He used the Cards as leverage w/ the Browns.

Besides there wasn't much to break up, as great as that year was and as much as I love that team, they were not good, and even with Miller, Brown and Larry they'd have missed the playoffs in 1999.

Dansby only cares about money. The contract Pace got screwed us cause he wants more and will prob get it. Franchise him and trade or keep him hungry for another year with no deal.

I disagree. He is the leader on D and is worth Pace money. Trying to replace him next year will be a huge step back. In all reality we have enough money to get everybody done with also getting Suggs and Birk if we play it right and move some money further out. I am not talking enough to handcuff them in the future just enough to push 5-10 million 2-3 years away.

no ones coming here first till we put it together two years in a row...- not SB, but at least playoffs - light years ahead of the other teams in our division.
