I love DD he's one of the players that came in and changed the culture here. I think him and Q is where this new attitude started. He's been great but he has been slipping these past couple of years can't dominate forever hopefully he bounces back this year but I really think no matter what he does is his last year in AZ. He's oing to be asked to take a pay cut hopefully he'll do it cause we need serious money for Patrick Peterson.

Will Sutton anyone???

SF Iupati tossed Dockett like a rag doll

Obviously you haven't watched any tape or you would know that Iupati plays LG for SF. He wasn't assigned to block Dockett more than once or twice a game. Alex Boone was lined up over Dockett.

But then Iupati tosses everybody like a rag doll. He's the best Guard in the NFL. I really wanted the Cards to draft him but the 49ers got him before we had a chance.

really? Not the longest tenured Cardinal? The one out of the 3 guaranteed a spot in the Ring of Honor, and most likely to have his # retired

Where did the idea that Dockett was assigned to occupy blockers come from? I sure don't see it in the game film. Darnell is trying to get into the backfield on almost every play. It may look like he's occupying blockers but that's because he's being double teamed and couldn't slip through the gap.

LDT in a 3-4 is a tough job. It's simply a numbers game. Most of the time it is 3 on 2 on the Defenses Left Side. Dockett had about the same # of tackles last year as Ray McDonald of the 49ers. Antonio Smith of the Texans. Ryan Pickett of the Packers. Evander Hood of the Steelers.

um... did you quote the wrong person? I never said anything about him only being assigned to occupy blockers...

No, I was just asking the board in general and your post was the last one in line. :)

Then Iupati and Boone tossed Dockett around both games vs. SF last year. I watched DD to see what push he'd get...he got pushed back. He failed time and and time again. He didn't have the strength to even get off blocks.

The team D may have been ranked high...but in all seriousness DD is not the player ya'll make him out to be.

He's got the voice and he had the talent, last year he flat out stunk.

I dunno. I just watched the Coaches' Tape of the first half of the Week 17 San Francisco game, and he was getting routinely double-teamed in the run game despite not having an OLB on his side much of the time, and still managing to contain Kaepernick much of the time, and occaisionally getting pressure.

Dockett is too much to handle one-on-one, but he's a smallish guy, so teams will run on him. A couple plays he occupied two blockers long enough for Paris Lenon to come through and make a play.

In the successful run plays, it was usually because Dockett got too aggressive in his gap containment and allowed himself to be led out of the hole.

lmao. If that's the case, he maybe be better suited as a psychic. Considering Q himself didn't know about SF until that day
