its not even smoking - its knowing how not to be caught. I know of a few current players who havent had a single suspension and smoke up a storm..

Then I have no sympathy. He knows smoking weed is illegal in most states and that it is a banned substance in the league but he chose to put himself ahead of his teammates.

It is important to note that if may not be a POT thing. It could also be alcohol. But I only know of guys getting in the program for alcohol if they were caught with a DUI or something, of which I dont remember ever hearing that happening to Dwash, but it could have been unreported. So we shouldn't assume it was POT right away.

Brilliant idea. Especially before trying to get him some drug counseling to rectify the situation.

:doi:

Wow. Talk about an apologist. I'm pretty sure that there's a drug counseling regime in the NFL or NFLPA. Dude's a grown man, not a college sophomore who was caught with a water pipe in his dorm room.

I don't think he should be cut, and I hope the Cards have contract protection in the case of this stupidity.

Great to see the Cards are still committed to building their core around high-character players. Now it makes more sense why the Organization hasn't put him front and center in front of the community.

Much love for dwash, everyone makes mistakes, not going to nail him to the cross over a dirty UA

LOL. That's what the D.A.R.E. officer in my 7th grade health class called it. I'm too old to use the word "bong."

Also, isn't that the "official" name for all that Graffix stuff at the smoke/head shops? If they're labeled bongs, I think they become paraphernalia.

What about three of them? If he gets suspended for half a season (next time)?

he needs to call me and hell never fail a test again.

Or just talk to his defensive teammate that smokes all year round and never fails.

i hate it as much as the next guy. but to condemn him for a "next time" already is really quite silly!

Precisely. Let's not be judge and jury and make sweeping assumptions of the man.

He does, however, need to get his **** together. Too good of a talent to go to waste a la Ricky Williams

Per PFT this may be his 3rd time getting popped.

"Daryl Washington 4-game suspension under substance-abuse policy means he violated policy multiple times, usually at least three."

jesus. what a freaking idiot.

Goes from hometown hero to hometown zero...3 failed tests prove stupidity and that can not be condoned. He deserves what he gets. Get popped once thats fine get the wake up call but for it to be 3 TIMES and still not care, there is a problem there.

Sad. Hope he can straighten his head out. It's a shame because so many see him as inspiring in his work ethic. Like it or not he's being looked at closely and he needs to adjust his habit. He can't just do whatever in the occupation he's chosen. Many do, I'm sure, but are smarter about it. Pot can stay in the system and is traceable for 90 days I believe. Not a smart thing to do if your in the NFL.

Now we know why so many players want to sign with the Broncos and Seahawks.
