I've only seen the replays but there are several stories out there that say he didn't hurt the wrist earlier, he took a blow and was shook up. They said ribs, someone else here said it was to the head. He apparently hurt the wrist on the play he fumbled and that's why he went after the tackle with only 1 hand.

But I can see your question too because it's not obvious on the play he fumbles how he hurt the wrist, which makes you wonder if it was already hurt and they just didn't know how much?

But the story I read last night said they took him in to xray the ribs, not the wrist. Of course if it was the wrist, they're probably not telling us that now since they'd look pretty stupid for putting him back in

BA confirmed that the injury happened on the pass play... Johnson convinced the staff he was ok. The fumble shows he wasn't...

I think the dj Foster signing is to alleviate kerwyn from his return duties. I wouldn't be surprised if we try to sign someone else on the street.

Which would make sense but DJ has nearly no return experience so we'll see.

Anybody know what kind of surgery was performed? My uneducated research on dislocated wrists says cast for 4-6 weeks and then rehab. Not sure if his is more severe (longer cast time) but if not, how much time would be needed for rehab?

DJ also healed very quickly from his MCL...hoping the same thing happens with this injury.

Last 2 games DJ has played in...two significant injuries.

Anything wrist related is going to be tricky since running backs depend on so much grip strength and we won't know how long until he is allowed to start that part of the rehab.

Plus. DJ relies so heavily on his stiff-arms. That's where this type of injury gets even trickier.
