I don't know near as much about football as Chris and Shane. But I thought I'd pass on some tidbits from this am practice until Shane can take over.

It has just not stopped raining, so we were in the Skydome again. It is looking the same this afternoon. Yet, there was still a good-sized crowd there. Not as big as yesterday, but I was surprised for a 9am Monday.

During offensive warm-up drills, Derek Anderson (DA) ran a keeper. He faked the handoff and took-off running wide right.

They did a lot of work practicing punting.
- Only Jorrick and Andre Roberts were returning
- Graham was booming his kick
- Rashard Johnson looks like he will be the upback calling the snap counts
- Graham was booming them as always.

Spach took some reps as long snapper. It was the Bad News Bears. If he wasn't sailing the ball over Grahams head, he was turning him into Larry Fitz.

Some lady brought her Pomeranian dog to the practice. Come on, I know dogs are welcome at the outdoor practices, but what???

They then went to the 6x8 drills.

- Funny play. DA threw a pick on a short pass. The intended receiver hit the ball out of the defenders arm and it went straight back to DA. DA then just took off like Adrian Peterson, shaking and baking.

Next up were the 11x11.

- On the second play, Hightower had a gorgeous run for a TD. He was hardly even touched.

- Leinart is really selling the play-action. This is going to be a huge advantage for the Cards.

- Beanie and Tim continue to look fantastic

After the game it was Leinart again signing autographs for the crowd, but this time DA joined him.

Well that's it from me. Shane will take over the next 2 practices.

Thanks nice update. Hope the rains stop so they can practice on two fields instead of the crammed indoors.

Great work, J-dub. Coach can't be happy working indoors on that unforgiving turf.

Don't tell me they didn't change that turf out recently. It can't possibly be the same turf that caused all those injuries years ago.

no -- they put in brand new field turf-- similar to what they have in a variety of NFL stadiums

Nope all new turf. I was there when Marcel tore up his knee in 04, that was an ugly situation.

If I'm not mistaken, the Cardinals paid, (or helped with the cost), to have the new turf installed. Good deal for both parties.

I am old fashioned and when I saw Leinart sitting down with Chris Mortensen with his baseball cap on backwards, I thought this guy still wants to be a hot shot rather than a quarterback.

I love hearing that Leinart is selling the play action. Warner stunk at that, and it really let the pass rush tee off on him.

As for wearing his hat backwards? It means absolutely nothing about the man.

Watch the coverage of some other teams. Matt Hasselback does interviews with his hat on backwards. They may have asked him to turn it around, because I'm betting the lighting in that RV isn't ideal.

No, the new turf, whatever it is, has been a non-issue. No twisted ankles or anything. And everyone, especially the UDFAs fighting for a spot, have been going full-speed-plus.

This. At least he isn't getting in fights in strip clubs.

You are right.

You are old fashioned. Seems like a pretty broad sweep of the brush there, eh?

Ha ha, great photo find AF!

Old fashioned? I would say totally off base.

I'm 56 years old, sometimes I like to wear a ballcap backwards... What's it got to do with anything?
