Two solid picks who should added depth and talent to this team. Nice first day.

I like that our defense was addressed right away, adding speed at corner and size up front.

Absolutely happy with the picks. Our defense was the problem, not the offense. Two solid picks and very smart ones considering what the need was and what we all wanted. Edge, and moreso JJ, breathe a deep sigh of relief.

You draft a running back to play immediately. There's no learning curve with that position. When Edge is done, then and only then do you draft his replacement.

Solid draft so far IMO. Love the size/speed combo for the defense.

The Cardinals picked two physical freaks on the defensive side of the ball. I think both can develop in playmakers.

I'm very content.

We continued to load up on defense and filled out postions that lacked depth. Solid draft so far.

Solid a-...........I don't give out a's. Did not think Campbell would be around at 50. Run on WR in second round was a blessing for us. As many experts have said, good RB can be found deeper in draft, so I suspect that is on deck for tomorrow. I will not lose any sleep tonight!

me too. I'm over the Mendy thing. I'll take an athletically gifted CB prospect and the biggest boom or bust guy in the draft. at least we're reaching for the stars.

Not thrilled with our first round, pleased with our second round.

I hope I'm wrong about Rogers-Cromartie, but I'm just not feeling it for that kid.

What if Edge is done after 1 or 2 games this year? What do we do then? Arrington sure is no NFL starting RB. Frankly, I was disappointed but not surprised we took Cromartie. I still worry about a guy with one kidney playing in the NFL aside from our luck at drafting DB's. He is ours so I got to hope I am dead wrong and eat a bucket of crow. I wanted Mendenhall. Most of the guys on TV thought we needed a RB. I wonder if Graves and our Coach were in full agreement on this pick?

I wanted Stewart, but after the Panthers took him, CB was ok by me in the first round. DE in the 2nd fills what I feel to be a need as well.

Maybe RB & OL tomorrow and its all good.

I wanted Mendenhall at #16, but I really can't fault the selection of DRC. If he follows in Aeneas' footsteps in Arizona like he did in his college conference I'll be a happy camper. Lord knows we haven't had a #1 CB since the great one departed. If DRC can improve the run defense, we've really got something there.

Now let's address speed on offense on day two.

probably a RB in round 3 or 4. But after that I think you might take a flyer on a FS unless it's certain Rolle is going to start at FS for us (might be just due to the drafting of DRC to team with Hood with Green sliding to the third CB).

DRC kind of scares me. Is he more than a track star? He could be great and he could be a huge bust. Good news is that he doesn't have to start with Hood and Green in there right now.

I love the Campbell pick in the second. Great value there.

These are both insurance picks for next year incase we lose Green and/or A Smith.

I think the Cards did well. Obviously they addressed two big need areas. I was in the don't-draft-a-RB-on-the-first-day camp, so I am a happy camper.

This is about as boom or bust type first two rounders as you can get. You know what, I like it though and here is why, both seemingly have the attitude and character to put in the work to have the best shot possible to not be busts. I wanted a RB but I am fine with Defense, defense, and more defense.

It could have been worse my absolute nightmare would be to hear Aqib Talib's name called at 16. I would have gone crazy.

Obviously the FO and staff believed the defense was lacking and that we can live for the most part with the offense personsel currently on the roster.

I'm not usually high on players that rise after the season. However , with DCR he showed what he is all about at the senior bowl when he stepped up against his peers and shined.

We have had great success with players that have dropped on draft day. Dockett and Dansby to name just two. Campbell was a beast in 2006 and was projected as a possible top 10 player before falling off a bit in 2007 for a variety of reasons. He is going to create havoc at times. How annoying is it when your offensive line gives your QB adequate time to throw only to have the pass batted down at the line of scrimmage? We will see plenty of that.

Bottom line, this coaching staff KNOWS what it wants and is going after it. They had their shot to take a number of players bantered about on this board but they had the balls to take THEIR guys. The draft is always a crap shoot but I got to think this defense is a tad better than it was when the day started.

I still like our chances of getting a speed back on day 2. But if we don't come away with a back, isn't Kevin Jones out there. I know he's injured right now but could provide depth. Any thoughts?
