If Goldy is raking and Trumbo is sitting with his OBP at .295 then teams are not going to give a crap that he is sitting there in the batters box.

I hope he comes through too but I unless he brings his OBP up significantly his days in the #4 spot will be short lived. You'll see Prado and Hill there again.

With Gibby as the manager he will probably lead off for 30 games, bat #2 for 20, bat #4 for 80 and the rest split between #5 and #6, thus not getting any feel for batting in one position.

We were 5th in the NL in runs scored in 2012. Our pitching was the issue last season.

Goes without saying. We need relief pitching and one more starter. If the rumors are true, that'll be fulfilled.

The problem with Skaggs was his value was depreciating and there would've been a good chance that his value would've been even worse at the end of next season. And Eaton was an expendable commodity. We have plenty of the "gritty" types on the roster, but only one who can clear the basis.

That being said, we're not necessarily going away from the gritty philosophy that people here are confused about. We're adding a player who can clear the bases with a swing of the bat and bring in a ton of runs.

The lineup got a bit better with this acquisition. Now it's time to focus on pitching.

Ain't that the truth? Sad, but true.

With all seriousness this is probably a true statement if you move the lead off at bats to the 5 and 6 spots.
